Bermuda is an island group in the Atlantic which is a British overseas territory of the United Kingdom. It lies east of the US state of North Carolina.
The crime rate is extremely low, therefore the tiny prison is mostly empty.
All major political decisions, in particular the foreign and defense policy are taken directly by the government in London.

The Bermuda Islands are mainly known due to the Bermuda Triangle, in the area of which ships and aircrafts are said to keep disappearing.
The subtropical climate allows for intensive agriculture. The main crops are citrus fruits, potatoes, vegetables, tobacco and flowers (especially roses). Characteristic of the subtropical vegetation are rubber trees, sage species and the Bermuda cedar. In some coastal areas also grow mangroves.On the Bermuda Islands the almost extinct bird species Bermuda Petrel has its breeding grounds.
There are several national parks, both above and under water.
