Attractions:
As you enter the city on the Aremal Bridge you reach the Church of San Nicholas of Bari which was rebuilt in the Baroque style.
Near the lift that goes up to the Colina is the panoramic terrace of Begoña.
Also worth seeing are the Nervion shores.
In the lively old city (Casco Viejo) characterized by narrow streets with the medieval cathedral is the Diputacions Palace, which houses the provincial museum and in the Casilda Iturriza Park the Museum of Fine Arts.
The city has an architecturally interesting mix of old and new buildings of various styles.
Center of tourist interest is next to the oldest transportation bridge in the world across the Nervión the Guggenheim Museum built until 1997 by the American architect Frank O. Gehry. The spectacular museum of titanium, glass and limestone is one of the most important examples of avant-garde architecture of the 20th century worldwide. Bilbao offers simply much: architectural treasures, museums, opportunities for long walks on the beach or mountain hikes.
