Den Helder / Netherlands

Den Helder with its 57,000 inhabitants, is located in the Dutch province of North Holland, on the North Sea coast. For centuries, the port of Den Helder played a strategically important role, because  here the ships of the Dutch East India Company once got provision supplies. The town's name translates as much as to the Hell gate 'and alludes to the former extremely massive and fortified fortifications of Den Helder.
