Greifswald-Wieck / Germany

The former fishing village Wieck, located at the mouth of the Ryck into the Danish Wieck, is now a district of the famous Hanseatic town of Greifswald. Nearly 500 inhabitants live in the village, whose most famous landmark is the Wieck drawbridge built in 1887. The picturesque landscape around Wieck already inspired painter Caspar David Friedrich to some of his finest works.
