Ilulissat (Jakobshavn) / Greenland

The magical little place Ilulissat (Danish also Jakobshavn) is on Greenland north of the extremely deep Isfjord and east of Disko Bay. Interesting in Ilulissat is the fishing port with the two fish factories which mostly process crab. There is also a small church and the Rasmussen Museum, which tells about the history of the area and the development of Ilulissat. In addition, the city is known for its high dog population, which is higher than the number of inhabitants. They are mainly used as draft animals for dog sledding. Such a trip into the surrounding area is another beautiful adventure that should be started on from Ilulissat. It will provide fantastic views of the fjord.
