The valley of the Zrmanja is particularly impressive in the area around Obrovac: up to 200-meter-high limestone cliffs rise on the banks of the river in the sky. In places, you can still discover the remains of former Turkish fortifications on the steep slopes. 3 km away from Obrovac you can marvel at the ruin Cvijina gradina, a remnant of the once very important Roman settlement Clambetae. Wall traces of roads and buildings and even the remains of the temple and the thermal plant were brought to light here by excavations. 20 km northwest of the city at the National Park Paklenica is a very attractive destination. Do not miss to taste the local cuisine. Particularly typical and tasty are the lamb and smoked ham.
