Tsutenkaku is the name of a 103-meter-high transmission and observation tower near the JR Shinimamiya station in the Naniwa district of Osaka. On the steel framework tower built in 1956 the viewing floors are located at a height of 84 m and 87 m. With two colors at the top of the tower it gives the weather forecast for the coming day.
The Sumiyoshi Taisha is a Shinto Shrine in the city district Sumiyoshi in Osaka and is the main shrine of over 2,000 Sumiyoshi shrines throughout Japan, where Kami are worshiped to protect travelers, sailors and fishermen. It was probably built in the 3rd century and is already mentioned in the Kokin-wakashu.
All the buildings in the Shrine are built according to the Sumiyoshi Zukuri style, the oldest shrine architecture style. The four main buildings are oriented towards the sea and belong to the National Cultural Heritage of Japan, the present main hall dates from the year 1810.
