Paracas / Peru

For nature lovers, the Paracas National Reserve, officially laid out in 1975 is a true paradise: sea lions, pelicans, penguins and numerous species of birds have found a protected habitat and can be seen at close quarters in their natural habitat. A large rock scar, the so-called Candlabro de Paracas' ("Candelabra of Paracas") was initially associated with the famous Nasca drawings, but eventually proved to be much younger. The rock drawing was once created probably by sailors for orientation. A boat ride to the nearby Islas Ballestas is also an unforgettable beautiful experience.
