The Longhua Temple is the oldest and largest of its kind in Shanghai. It was founded in 242 AD and has so far been preserved in good original condition. In the temple are sutras from the Tang Dynasty, the Five Dynasties, the Ming and Qing period. The seven-storey and octagonal pagoda is 40 m high and was built in 247 AD. It is Shanghai's best-preserved pagoda.
The Shanghai Museum is an architectural masterpiece. It is one of the largest collections of Chinese art.
