St. John's is located on the northwest coast of the island of Antigua in the Caribbean. Around 30,000 people live in this city. Initially under British rule, Antigua only became independent in 1981 and, together with Barbuda, founded an island state. St. John's also serves as the main port and export port for economic goods such as cotton and sugar, but many people also live on pottery and crafts, which is strongly promoted by tourism.

In the very lively city, there are some places of interest that date back to the colonial era and that have been preserved in the appropriate style to this day. This includes the Palace of Justice, which was built in the middle of the 18th century. St. John's Cathedral is also worth seeing, as are the ruins of Fort James, one of the oldest colonial buildings in the city. One of the most worthwhile attractions is the English Harbor, which also offers a great view over the promenade and reminds of the old time as a fortification point.
Besides sightseeing, however, one should not forget to enjoy life in the city, to experience the markets, to sit by the sea in the evening with a camp fire, to watch the sunset or simply to enjoy the beach life.
