Before the cruise

Are there organized activities for teenagers?
Young people also have a lot of fun aboard the ships. Sports & fitness, watching videos or turning up the volume during the "Rock Hour" - everything is possible. Please note that the Teen Junior Club is only available in the mid- and high season.
Can children and teenagers also use the sauna?
Children and young people under 18 years of age may only enter the sauna if accompanied by an adult.
Are gratuities included?
Yes, gratuities are included in the travel price.
Which areas on board are accessible for people with disabilities?
Almost all public areas on board, such as bars, restaurants, elevators, outer decks, public toilets and cabins are barrier-free and equipped with orientation signs in profile and Braille.
What additional costs will I incur on board?
The following additional services are paid for on board: shore excursions, internet use, wellness and cosmetic treatments, hairdressing services and make-up, sports courses are partly subject to a fee, private training sessions, drinks at the bars: Purchases at the Costa Shops, casino visits, 4D cinema are not possible.

How can I be reached on board?
Due to agreements with various partners, all ships in the fleet are covered by a radio connection via satellite, so that customers of the major mobile phone providers can make and receive calls, send and receive SMS messages and use mobile internet services even at sea. The telephone connection must be capable of international roaming.
The rates are set by the respective telephone provider; it is recommended that you contact them for more information. If the ship is near the coast, the cell phone may connect to a mobile phone provider on land. In this case, you will usually receive an SMS with the corresponding charges.
On board, you can make calls from your cabin via the satellite connection for a fee. Faxes can also be received and sent.
How do I check in?
Check-in must be done online on the MyCosta platform (www.mycosta.com) starting 30 days before departure. During the online check-in, each passenger (except minors, for whom check-in is done by their parents) must personally:

> fill in / modify the fields in the form (if pre-filled, possibly with the information entered by the agency);
> give consent to the privacy policy;
> complete a mandatory medical health screening questionnaire.
On the MyCosta platform you will see the assigned boarding time slot, at which you will be asked to report to the terminal: it is important that you arrive on time and respect this time slot to minimize the disorderly influx of guests and avoid crowds.
The arrival time at the terminal will therefore be staggered with clearly defined arrival times for all guests. Please note that the cruise ticket for each passenger will not be available until all passengers of a booking have completed the online check-in. If the booking includes other guests, the person who made the booking can enter the contact details of the other passengers included in the booking to invite them to check in online.
How does the safe in the cabin work?
You can store your valuables directly in your cabin. Each cabin has its own safe.
To avoid blocking the safe, we recommend that you read its instructions carefully. You should also make sure that all electronic devices (mobile phones, smartphones, etc.) placed inside are switched off, as they could otherwise affect the correct functioning of the opening system.
How does check-in work for guests with individual disabilities?
Guests with special needs are given priority when boarding. Please contact the service and information desk when you arrive at the port. The possibility of using this service depends on the operational conditions of the ship and port.

What sports options are available to me on board as a guest with individual disabilities?
The diverse sports and fitness program aboard Costa ships can of course be used by all guests and is also available to passengers with individual disabilities. Please note that not the entire sports area is wheelchair accessible. The cruise line will work with you to find an individual solution.
How do I orient myself on board?
It is easy to find your way around Costa ships, thanks to the screens in the public areas on board, which show interactive videos with information (e.g. where your cabin is located or information about the delivery of your luggage) and the numerous ship maps available on each deck. You will also find a map of the main areas of the ship on your Costa card case. The best way to discover and explore the ship is of course to discover it in your own way.
How should I dress for the excursions?
For shore excursions, sporty clothing and comfortable shoes without heels are recommended. If the excursion includes visits inside places of worship, appropriate and respectful clothing must be worn for the visit.      
Is Holy Mass celebrated on board?
Holy Mass is only celebrated on certain cruises and only during the main Christian celebrations. However, all Costa ships have a chapel for private prayer.
Is there an additional fee for children and teen activities?
No, the activities are free. The programs include numerous activities specifically for children and teenagers between 3 and 17 years. A vacation with Costa is pure fun for everyone and of all ages.
Where can wheelchair users sit at the theater?
At the theater, spaces are reserved for wheelchair users with adjacent seats for assisting persons.

During the cruise

What offers are available for small children on board?
There is no supervision or entertainment for children under 3 years of age. The little ones can use the rooms and games of the Squok children's club when accompanied by a parent. Please understand that for the safety of the little ones, this is only possible in the low season and when there is enough space.      
What offers are available at the gym?
On all Costa ships you have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of sports and fitness options. This means you can keep fit even during the cruise. In the fitness area you will find everything that sports fans dream of: various training equipment for building muscle, modern cardio equipment, training areas for courses, fitness and health tests, nutritional advice, private training sessions and much more.
The fitness studio is always open from 06.00 to 22.00 Please refer to the onboard newspaper "Today" for different opening times.
What types of cabins are there?
Each cabin - whether inside, outside with sea view, with balcony or with terrace - guarantees a well-thought-out and cozy home at sea in which you will have a great rest. And if you are traveling with your family, you can book a cabin with a third and fourth bed or a second cabin with a connecting door. The balconies offer enough space - and you will enjoy your proximity to the sea. Would you like to treat yourself to more luxury? Then choose a suite. The suites are in a privileged location on the upper decks and have an even more spacious layout and furnishings. The My Drinks Plus drinks package with unlimited enjoyment of premium drinks is included. You can have your meals at the Club Restaurant (if available on the ship) and in suites, grand suites and panorama suites a personal butler is at your disposal.            
Wellness-Center
On each ship there is a wellness center where you can unwind in the sauna or Turkish bath or where you can relax with a traditional oriental or therapeutic massage. A Samsara Spa is also available on certain ships, Costa's fantastic beauty farm, offering unique experiences for mind and body. There is also a beauty salon on every Costa ship to refresh your look, whether it's a manicure or pedicure, a haircut or a new hairstyle - and on some ships you can also get a shave too.
Who is Squok?
Squok is Costa's friendly mascot, he is a cross between a shark and a dolphin and is guaranteed to quickly become your children's best friend.

 What age groups are there in the Squok Club?
The animation team offers entertainment and fun for your children from morning to evening. This gives you time to enjoy the entire cruise and, if you want, the shore excursions in peace and quiet. The Costa Cruises animation team guarantees supervision for all children and young people aged 3 to 11 every day from 09:00 to 23:30 Children who only celebrate their third birthday during the cruise can also take part in this offer, provided they are no longer wearing diapers.
The clubs for the kids are divided into the following age groups: Mini: 3-6 years, Maxi: 7-11 years, Teen Junior: 12-14 years, Teens: 15-17 years. There is also a free group babysitting service, available upon request from 23.30. to 01:30 in the Squok Club. The times may vary slightly depending on the cruise program. In some cases this service is offered with restrictions - the times will be communicated on board. There is no supervision or entertainment for children under 3 years of age. Squok Club activities are not available on Costa neoCollection, Costa neoRomantica and Costa neoClassica ships.          
How do you pay for purchases and other expenses on board?
Passenger receive their personal "Costa Boarding Card" (Costa Cabin Card) on board: With this card, all expenses are charged directly to the cabin account, so there is no need to carry cash with you during your stay on board - whether for paying at the bars and boutiques or for additional services. A receipt is issued for each expense, which must be signed by the passenger. At the end of the cruise and before disembarkation, you will receive the final invoice, which lists all expenses on board.
The Costa Boarding Card is already activated when it is handed over to you and all your expenses are automatically charged to your cabin. Within 48 hours of boarding, you must cover the boarding card by registering your credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express) - debit cards and EC cards cannot be accepted for this purpose. Alternatively, it is also possible to pay 150 €/$ per person in cash as a deposit (if the expenses exceed the deposit, this amount must be adjusted accordingly).
During the first 48 hours, your boarding pass may be temporarily blocked if your spending exceeds €/$200 (this only happens if you have not yet registered a credit card or provided a higher amount as a deposit).
Where can you have lunch and dinner?
The buffet is available for lunch and dinner. In the evening you can dine at the elegant main restaurant.In addition, for dinner there are themed restaurants available (only on certain ships) such as the Club Restaurant, the Japanese restaurant Tavola Teppanyaki (only on Costa Diadema) or the Pizzeria PummiDoro.Please refer to the "Diario di bordo" for the restaurant opening times.

Gluten, lactose-free or vegetarian dishes
Any special treatment related to food can only be guaranteed  at the main restaurant.

Vegetarians/vegans
If you have a special diet (diabetics, gluten-free, kosher, etc.), please let the cruise line know already upon booking. The cruise line tries to fulfill your wishes.
„Diario di bordo“
The “Diario di bordo” is the onboard paper that is published every evening in your cabin. The paper provides you with information about the next day, such as the planned activities on board, the opening hours of the restaurants, the name of the port of call and the excursion options available there (CostaTours!) as well as numerous other useful details of interest.

Happy Family Comfort
Plenty of space for the whole family: Families with two adults and two children up to the age of 17 travel in two separate cabins and pay 50% of the All Inclusive or My Cruise price for the second cabin for the children if they choose an inside cabin. Limited offer. Not valid for suites.
Single with child:
If a big and a small explorer (up to 17 years) share the cabin, it is particularly cheap: You pay the All Inclusive or My Cruise price, the child 50% of it. Limited offert. Cannot be combined with the CIClub discount and the 10% Next Cruise discount. Not valid for suites.
Honeymoon discount:
Those who say yes to a honeymoon with Costa (within one year of the wedding) receive 5% off the All Inclusive or My Cruise price - on all itineraries. Not valid for world cruises and their sections.
Group cruises:
Whether it's a group of friends, a sports club or a conference cruise: there are many reasons for a group cruise with Costa. For a group of 10 or more full-paying adults,you will receive a discount on the cabin price. for groups of 20 or more full-paying people, Costa will offer you optimal support before, during and after your cruise, as well as attractive discounts. Not valid for world cruises and their sections.
