Look forward to a ship that is big enough to offer a variety of services with over 250 cabins. It is spacious and modern, but also small enough to make the cruise an individual experience for you and your partner.

In 2018, the Silver Wind was already extensively renovated. The 17,400-gross registered tonnage ship shines in modern splendor, while preserving its traditional charm. In 2020, the hull of the luxury ship will be rebuilt for the ice class. Then, in addition to Caribbean and European destinations, the Arctic Sea can also be discovered.

-Physical or mental disorders which may necessitate medical treatment or special attention of the medical staff during the cruise.
-Health restrictions that may affect travel or require special medical or nursing care.
-Health restrictions that may pose a threat to the guest or other persons on board.
- Health restrictions that may require the administration of oxygen for medical reasons.
-The intention or need to bring a wheelchair or other mobility aid or companion on board.

When guests book a cruise and go aboard they ensure that they are able to carry out the cruise, that they will comply with the regulations  regarding the stay on board without exception, and that they will comply with any instructions given by the ship officers and medical staffSilversea reserves the right, subject to disclaimer of liability, to evict any guest from the ship or prevent them from boarding the ship and participating in the cruise if, in the opinion of Silversea or the ship's captain, the guest is unfit to travel or requires medical attention This requires a scale that Silversea cannot realistically achieve. Guests requiring accessibility on board must contact Silversea prior to booking. Silversea reserves the right to prohibit guests from boarding the ship if they have not informed Silversea of these requirements at the time of booking.
Hotelprogramm
Discover the most beautiful cities in the world silently and with the optional hotel programs of Silversea before respectively after the cruise - Silver Shore Simply Hotel and Silver Shore Grande Hotel.
Vaccinations
Generally, no vaccinations are required for most regions where Silversea travels. However, this information or requirements may change; it is recommended that you contact your travel agent before leaving for the latest guidelines. Please note that in the case of travels to countries where vaccinations are required, written proof is required. Before traveling abroad, you should consult your doctor, especially if you currently  undergo treatment.
Cruise disembarkation
The disembarkation begins immediately after local customs clearance (usually two hours after the arrival of the ship). On the day of disembarkation guests should plan to leave their suites until 8:30 am. Due to the distance between some ports and the airport, guests should allow additional time for departing flights. This leaves enough time for the formalities of cruise disembarkations, customs and immigration procedures to reckon with transfer time to the airport and two to three hours at check-in. Guests who need a wheelchair should inform Silversea in advance so as to organize the appropriate transportation and/or accommodation arrangements before the cruise disembarkation.
Cruise embarkation
The embarkation time for your cruise is shown in your final cruise documentation. Please be at the ship at the time specified. (Guests whose Silversea package includes a mandatory charter flight should arrive at the airport at the specified time which can be found in your final cruise documentation.) When you arrive at the terminal, you will be asked to provide the documentation of your Silversea luxury cruise and to submit your passport. Please keep all necessary documents in your hand bag during the entire embarkation process of the cruise.
Cruise coupons
Silversea cruise vouchers have no cash value, are non-transferable and can only be used in connection with the acquisition of a Silversea cruise prior to the expiration date. These vouchers are valid for all cruising prices published in the catalog and are redeemed at the end of the booking, after -if existing- all flight vouchers and all other discount programs have been redeemed or withdrawn. Certain restrictions may apply.
Discounts when booking on board
If you book your next cruise already during the journey, you can save 5% on selected trips. General Terms and Conditions: extended voyage discounts, discounts for Venetian Society members and discounts upon booking o board are billed consecutively after deduction of all flight credits from the prices for Silver discounts. The discount programs do not apply to the rates for the Silver Sky® Air Program, the hotel or the shore adventure programs.
Pregnancy
Silversea's policy for pregnant women is based on the recommendation of the CLIA, which is based on the American College of Emergency Physicians' guidelines for medical care on cruise ships, available at http://www.acep.org/Content.aspx ?id=29980 that can be viewed. These guidelines state, among other things, that “pregnant women who are 24 weeks pregnant or beyond before or during the cruise are not permitted to participate in a cruise. Silversea policy states that guests who are 24 weeks pregnant or beyond during the cruise are not permitted to embark on the cruise. Before embarking on a cruise, the person concerned and the attending physician should bear in mind that there is no gynecologist/obstetrician on board and that, in the event of possible complications or inadequate monitoring, pregnancies can be life-threatening, especially without specialist medical support. Guests are sometimes at sea for several days where there is no nearby hospital and/or no specialist medical support. In addition, the itinerary is not within the United States, so the availability of appropriately equipped facilities on land may be problematic. All guests are required to complete a health questionnaire upon check-in to ensure they are aware of our pregnant women policy. If you have already booked a cruise or cruise tour and do not meet this requirement, please contact your travel advisor or call us

Clothing recommendations
Clothing on board
Clothing on board ranges from casual to formal. Casual clothing is appropriate during the day. Flat shoes or low-heeled shoes should be worn during onboard activities. Evening wear is divided into three categories: casual, informal and formal. For casual evenings, open-collared shirts, long pants, and casual clothing are appropriate. On informal evenings, women usually wear dresses or pants suits, while men wear jackets with or without a tie. On formal evenings, the dress code for women is cocktail or evening dresses and for men, tailcoats, tuxedos or dark suits. On formal evenings, guests dining at La Terrazza may also wear smart casual attire (dress or pantsuit for women, jacket with or without tie for men). Voyages of up to nine days usually have one formal evening, longer voyages two or three formal evenings. Please refer to the “Setting Sail Guide” in your cruise documents for details. After dinner, all publicly accessible areas of the ship are available for guests. There are entertainment options here as well as cocktails and after-dinner drinks. All all-inclusive cruises of eight days or less typically have two formal evenings, while longer cruises usually have three or four formal evenings. Please see your final cruise documents for more information. The table below provides you with a quick overview of tips for packing appropriate clothing for your cruise.

Clothing on land
Since there's a lot to see and explore while sightseeing on land, a pair of comfortable, sturdy shoes is a must in your luggage. This is particularly true for excursions in coastal regions, where the ground is often uneven and there can be long hikes and inclines. Casual clothing is appropriate at all times on land. Garments that can be worn in multiple layers make it easier to compensate for temperature differences and are comfortable to wear in any situation. When visiting mosques, cathedrals or monasteries, you should wear appropriate clothing. Guests wearing shorts, a short skirt (above the knee), or a sleeveless top may not be permitted entry to these buildings. Please check the applicable dress code at the excursion desk on board before going on the excursions. Please note that the use of full face diving/snorkeling masks is not permitted on all Silversea trips and excursions. If you have any questions specific to your equipment, please contact your expedition leader before use. Please note that appropriate equipment is available on board.

Special occasions at sea
If you celebrate during your cruise a birthday, wedding, honeymoon or other occasion, ask your travel agent to notify Silversea about it at least four weeks before departure. Download the Bon Voyage gift form if you want to send a special gift to a Silversea guest or to have it sent to your suite.
Visitors/ Bon Voyage - partys
If you want to make arrangements for a bon voyage party and/or at the embarkation port would like to invite guests aboard the ship please contact your travel agency or the Silversea department "Special Services" where you are gladly assisted. Applications must be submitted in writing and at least 14 days before departure. For safety reasons visitors must be registered on the day of embarkation at Silversea in advance. For visitors during the journey (day of embarkation excluded), the arrangements can be made on board. Silversea reserves the right to limit the number of visitors on board.
Electrical plugs
The suites are equipped with 110 volt (American amperage) and 220 volt (European amperage) plugs. For smaller devices therefore no adapters are needed. Each suite has a hairdryer. Ironing stations are available in the laundry room if you quickly want to freshen up a garment in between.
Electronic newspapers
Guests can download the PressReader application to read various free newspapers from around the world directly on their iPad/iPhone or Android device. The application can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Once downloaded, go to the Silversea Portal page and follow the PressReader link to connect to the free onboard newspaper library.
Lost property
Silversea may charge a fee for the return of personal items forgotten or lost on board and later found.
Worship services
On Sundays, religious services are held on board. On special holidays - if possible - Catholic, Protestant and/or Jewish clergymen are on board.
Pets
Pets cannot be taken aboard on a Silversea cruise.
Internet access
All guests receive free unlimited standard Wi-Fi access for one device each. Guests in the Medallion, Silver, Royal, Grand and Owner's Suites receive unlimited premium internet access on board for up to 2 devices. The standard Wi-Fi works at normal satellite speeds and is ideal for writing emails, surfing the web, chatting and similar activities. Not suitable for video/audio calls or streaming. Premium access is suitable for all types of applications, including video/audio calls and streaming. Premium Wi-Fi is available for an additional fee. Guests can log into Wi-Fi using their own laptop to access the internet or private email services in the privacy of their own suite or at Wi-Fi locations throughout the ship. Telecommunications via satellite is a very different experience than high-speed connections on land. The signal is transmitted in a similar way to radio waves, but over greater distances. Therefore, internet access on board is not always constant and cannot be guaranteed at all times. Satellite communication is also influenced by the weather and the location of the ship.
Children and teenagers & child care
The guidelines of Silversea Cruises stipulate that minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied in the same or a connected suite by a parent or other educated person over 21 years of age. If the adult accompanying person of the minor is not a parent, at least one parent or legal guardian must sign a form for the approval of the child care service, which must be received by Silversea before the start of the cruise. The purchase and consumption of alcohol is only permitted to guests over 21 years. Silversea reserves the right to refrain from giving alcohol to any guests who, if the staff considers so, are under the influence of alcohol, or for any other reason that serves for the protection of the health and safety of guests and staff.
Silver Explorer and Silver Cloud cannot accept infants under one year old. Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit and Silver Muse cannot accept infants under 6 months of age on board. Although Silversea accepts guests over 6 months (for Silversea Expeditions over a 1 year), there are no special programs for children and Silversea does not provide care, entertainment or supervision of children on board. Silversea reserves the right to limit the number of children under 3 years of age.
In addition, children under the age of 5 cannot ride the Zodiac inflatable boats used on the Silversea Expeditions. Since Silversea does not offer childcare, an adult family member must remain aboard the Silver Explorer with the child/ children during excursions with the Zodiacs. To ensure the safety of our younger guests, children up to 8 years of age are only allowed to participate in tours / shuttle services that are suitable for them if the vehicles are equipped with appropriate seat belts and seats to carry the young guests. Guests have the option of bringing their own child seats, booster seats or seat belts, provided that these can be secured in the respective vehicle in such a way that the child can be transported safely. The availability of such child seats and seat belts cannot be guaranteed. For safety reasons Silversea reserves the right to prevent children under the age of 8 from participating in any shore excursion

Medical care on board
Each ship of Silversea has a medical department, which is normally occupied at sea with a doctor and a nurse around the clock. In ports, additional emergency care can also be provided through local medical facilities. Medical services and medications are billed to guests. The medical unit on board is not designed to carry out long-term treatment of existing diseases or treat longer-term emergencies. On board, guests can make calls, send and receive text messages, and use other select data services using their own cell phones or PDA devices. Guests will be billed for these services by their wireless carrier. Calls or messages appear on the bill with the roaming charges. Before departure, guests should check with their provider to see if they have a roaming agreement with Silversea. Silver Cloud is also equipped with a telephone system that guests can use while at sea to make direct dial calls from their suite. The costs for the calls will be deducted from the onboard account. At the ship's reception you can find out the current cost, which (at press time) is $1.50 per minute. Please note that these technologies use onboard satellite systems. Therefore, there may be temporary outages of services connected to a satellite on land. This applies, among others, the internet connections, cell phones, in-suite phones, television channels and world news. Longer outages are to be expected when traveling to the polar regions.

The travel price paid by you will be fixed long before the actual start of the journey, based on the predictions for fuel prices and other costs applicable at that time. In the event of a significant change of these cost on which Silversea has no influence, including, but not limited to increases in fuel prices, fluctuations in exchange rates affecting the costs of Silversea, increase in government taxes or fees or increased safety costs, Silversea reserves the right  to demand a premium from the passengers to cover these unexpected costs. Silversea has the right to refuse transportation to guests until the additional fees or surcharges are paid before the start of the journey.

GuestCare Insurance
For bookings made in the USA, Silversea has a special offer: Silversea GuestCare® - an optional travel insurance specifically designed for Silversea guests.
The following information is a summary of the services and benefits of GuestCare and can be changed. A brochure with the general terms and conditions for the insurance protection, including the exclusion of pre-existing conditions and other applicable restrictions, will be sent to you together with your cruise documents before the start of the journey. Each benefit is subject to the restrictions set out in the insurance plan and may be changed.

Protection for cancellation and termination of the journey
If you are required to cancel or terminate your journey for reasons covered by the insurance (such as an unforeseeable illness that affects you, your fellow traveler or a close relative), you are entitled to a refund of resulting cancellation fees and/or the value of the unused part of your journey and other expenses covered by the insurance up to the full price of your cruise vacation.

Travel delay
If you miss the departure of the cruise ship due to weather-related flight cancellations, aircraft operating failures or other reasons covered by the insurance, you will be reimbursed for appropriate additional expenses for accommodation, meals and a simple transportation in economy class.

Insurance for luggage and personal belongings
In the case of loss, theft or damage to your luggage or the contents of your luggage, the repair or replacement costs will be reimbursed to you.

Luggage delay
If your checked baggage has more than 24 hours delay, you will be refunded by the insurance company for the costs of urgently needed items.

Worldwide assistance for travelers
GuestCare also offers a hotline for travelers, 24 hours a day, providing worldwide access to a variety of services.

Medical and accident costs and evacuation in medical emergencies
Should you become ill during the cruise or have an accident, you will be reimbursed for the medical expenses, insofar as these are covered by the insurance. In addition, GuestCare will be responsible for the emergency transportation by airliner or ambulance in case of medical emergencies. In this case, it is a matter of special care as Medicare and many private insurance policies normally do not cover medical expenses incurred abroad.

Insurance protection for pre-existing diseases
Many travel insurance plans do not cover cases where travelers have to cancel or cancel their journey because of illness that already existed at the time of the insurance plan. In contrast to conventional insurance plans, Silversea has worked to eliminate the exclusion clause for pre-existing conditions in the GuestCare plan if the amount for the insurance plan is paid later than the last payment for your cruise.

Completion of the GuestCare insurance
The amount for this important insurance cover will be added to the invoice for your cruise, unless you reject it at the time of booking or the last payment. To obtain this valuable insurance cover, transfer the amount stated together with the payment for your cruise to your travel agent. The insurance must be paid in full for it to be fully effective. For more information and the corresponding insurance costs, please contact your travel agency or read the brochure in the documentation of your cruise package.

Travel documents
All travel documents (tickets for flights and cruises, passport, health insurance card, vaccination certificate) are the responsibility of the guest. In addition, the guest is also responsible for applying for and carrying all necessary visas and health-related documents for all relevant ports, as well as complying with all customs regulations. Silversea may prohibit guests from embarkation and transportation without the required documentation or may disembark the guest during the voyage. In such cases, Silversea will not provide a refund and will generally not be liable to guests for refusal of embarkation or disembarkation. If Silversea provides information and advice on necessary travel documents, visas and medical vaccinations as a non-binding service, guests are still obliged to clarify this information or advice with the relevant government authorities. Silversea assumes no liability for the accuracy of this information. Some countries require a passport that is valid for up to 6 months after the end of the cruise. Please ask the relevant consulate about the applicable regulations. For cruises that also call at ports in Canada, please contact your local Canadian consulate for specific travel requirements applicable to Canada.Safety measures from individual governments may change from time to time and each guest must comply with these requirements. As part of a non-binding service, Silversea endeavors to inform each guest of any measures affecting them. However, it is the guest's sole responsibility to comply with these conditions. If you have any questions, please contact your travel agent to avoid losing your right to embark.
