Before the cruise

Language on board
Aboard the following DCS river and ocean ships the on board language is German and English: DCS Amethyst, DCS Alemannia, TC Diamond, TC Jewel, TC Sapphire, MS Steigenberger Legacy, MS Concerto, MS Rostropovich, MS Chernishevsky and MS Nizhny Novgorod.

On MS Bellejour the onboard language is English.
Guaranteed cabins
If you decidede for the guaranteed cabin category, you will save money and leave the cabin choice to the cruise line on the appropriate decks. You will receive your cabin number with the travel documents or upon embarkation on board.
We ask for your understanding that cabin requests are not binding when you book a guaranteed cabin and cannot always be considered.
Children discount
Children 0 - 6 years are free on board, basically no separate sleep possibility can be provided. Please contact us for this purpose!

Children between 6 and 12 years receive a 30% discount on the current price in the booked cabin category as of 12 years no discount is provided. Children discounts are not valid for bookings in the category M3.
For booking requests for children, we also need the names of the child respectively toddler or baby.

Travel documents
River cruises Danube, Rhine and Moselle
EU citizens do not need a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany. All other foreigners basically need a visa for stays in Germany. For visitors staying up to 90 days in any 180-day period, citizens of countries for which the European Community has waived the visa requirement do not need a visa. For more information, please contact the responsible consulate. DCS-Touristik is not liable for the timely granting and receipt of necessary visas by the respective diplomatic representation if the customer has commissioned DCS-Touristik with the application, unless DCS-Touristik is responsible for the delay. The customer is responsible for compliance with all regulations that are important for the journey. All disadvantages, in particular the payment of costs for cancellation arising from non-compliance with these regulations, shall be borne by DCS-Touristik, unless they are caused by a culpable misinformation or non-information of DCS-Touristik.

River cruises Volga
German citizens need a passport that is valid for at least six months more after the end of the journey. Furthermore, a single visa is required. The visa application is taken over by a visa service (costs about 100 € per person). The required documents will be sent to you with the booking confirmation. For short-term bookings a higher visa fee applies.

River cruises Nile
German citizens need a passport to enter Egypt, which is valid for six months beyond the travel period. Children also need their own passport. All documents required for entry must be valid for at least 6 months more after the end of the journey.
For German citizens an entry visa is required. This is issued without major formalities directly at the entrance for a fee of € 28, - per person at the airport. The visa is valid for a stay of 30 days, the arrival and departure day is already included.

Ocean cruises - Mediterranean Sea
German citizens need an identity card or passport valid one to three months after the end of the journey. Please note that children traveling abroad must have their own travel document. Entries in the parent's passport are invalid.

Before sending the request respectively the booking the price of the cabin (including possibly booked additional services) is shown. The crossed out prices are (former) catalog prices of the operator to which the calculated discount refers. Errors and omissions excepted. The regulations and general terms and conditions (GTC) of the respective organizer apply. The "steering wheels" are not an official classification, but recommendations of the cruise lines as well as subjective assessments of customers and employees.
Gratuities on board of DCS Touristik
At the end of the journey, you can use the «right for you»  gratuity  to express your satisfaction with the services of the crew.
Please use the envelopes, which will be brought to your cabin on the eve of departure. A designated box at the reception picks up these envelopes on the day of disembarkation.
All gratuities are distributed evenly among the crew.
As a rule, DCS Touristik recommends between 4 Euro per guest / day (= normal service, everything is OK) to 7 Euro per guest / day (= excellent service, extremely friendly and helpful crew).

 Please note that the gratuity recommendation (gratuity regulation) does not automatically become part of the contract, but only after a separate confirmation by the consumer (customer). Therefore, prior to booking the voyage, the consent of the consumer (customer) is requested.
