Salmon, as well as many local fish species use these stairs. The origins of the Gambesheimer Church St. Nazaire et Celse lay in the no-longer existing today place of Bettenhofen, in the 13th century. Many times damaged by wars and rebuilt, after 1945 ultimately only ruins were left. Today's church building was inaugurated in 1958.
