Items intended for the personal needs of the traveler, such as clothes, shoes, jewelery, camera, video camera, etc., can usually be carried free of customs duties. Transportation and importation of weapons, ammunition, drugs, explosive / fire hazardous objects, such as, in particular, fireworks, as well as juvenile or unconstitutional media is prohibited. In addition, imports of fresh food (e.g.fruit, vegetables, meat and sausage) are prohibited in many countries. Please note that it is strictly forbidden to introduce products made from protected animal and plant species. Protected animals and plants as well as products made from them are offered for sale in many countries. Caution is also needed when collecting on the beach: threatened species could be among them. Partly also antiques or cultural objects are affected by an import or export ban. Please do not contribute to illicit and harmful trade and inform yourself in time. In the event of a breach of the relevant customs or import / export regulations, serious sanctions such as customs confiscation, police or high fines threaten.
Caution: papers from street vendors' are not valid. The purchase of counterfeit branded items such as watches, computers, software, clothing etc. as well as their import into Germany and / or Austria is forbidden for copyright reasons. The cruise line would like to point out that each guest is responsible for compliance with the applicable foreign exchange, customs or import / export regulations. Please inform yourself in due time about the exchange, customs or import / export regulations that apply to you.

THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL REGULATIONS S APPLY FOR ENTRY TO GERMANY AND AUSTRIA:
Entry from non-EU countries for German and Austrian citizens. Travelers who are at least 17 years of age may carry duty-free 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250 g of smoking tobacco, 1 l of spirits with an alcohol content of more than 22% by volume or undiluted ethyl alcohol with an alcohol content of 80% by volume or more than 2 liters of alcohol with an alcoholic strength of mostly 22% by volume or a proportionate combination of these products and 4 liters of non-foaming wines and 16 liters of beer as well as medicinal products which correspond to the personal requirements. In the case of other goods (e.g. clothing), a duty-free limit of up to € 430 generally applies.
Entry from EU countries for German citizens
The following reference quantities apply for individual use
• Tobacco products: 800 cigarettes, 400 cigarillos (cigars with a maximum weight of 3 g), 200 cigars, 1,000 g of smoked tobacco
• Alcoholic beverages: 10 l spirits, 10 l alcoholic sweet drinks (alcopops), 20 l so called intermediate products (e.g. Campari, Port wine, Madeira and Sherry), 60 l sparkling wine, 110 l beer
• Coffee: 10 kg
Entry from EU countries for Austrian citizens
The following reference quantities apply for individual use
• Tobacco products: 800 cigarettes, 400 cigarillos (cigars with a maximum weight of 3 g), 200 cigars, 1,000 g of smoked tobacco
• Alcoholic beverages: 10 l spirits, 20 l alcohol such as beer, sparkling wine or wine up to 22 vol.%, 90 l wine (60 l sparkling wine), 110 l beer
By way of derogation from these sets, the following special arrangements apply:
For cigarettes that you bring in your luggage from Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania or Hungary to Austria, a duty-free tax allowance of 300 pieces has been in effect since March 1, 2014. For those cigarettes, which you carry beyond this allowance, you must register and pay the tobacco tax to the Customs Office immediately (verbally).
