A-ROSA BRAVA - the castle expert in Germany

Drink a well-kept beer on the upper deck, while 1,000 years of German history pass by the railing. You can experience this with a ride on the A-ROSA BRAVA. Slowly, this passes the castles of the Middle Rhine and reveals in Koblenz the view of the mighty fortress Ehrenbreitstein.

The ship A-ROSA BRAVA of the A-ROSA river ship GmbH sails on the Rhine and its tributaries. On the upper deck you can enjoy the natural beauties on comfortable loungers shaded by a large awning. A bar provides for the physical well-being, while the wine-growing areas of the Moselle and the Main pass by.

Since 2011, the A-ROSA BRAVA has been cruising along the castles of the Rhine. Around 200 guests enjoy the ride in 99 outdoor cabins. On the upper decks, French balconies provide a private view of the sights of Germany's most famous river. The Loreley on her rock is already waiting for her future guests.

Before the cruise

A-Rosa App
A-ROSA App is your travel companion before, during and after your cruise. In addition to your travel information and manifest data, in the app you will find the daily program on board, port information, spa offers and much more.
  
Diet
Please contact your maître or the head chef at the start of the cruise if you have a diet that needs to be followed. Please let us know about allergies/intolerances about 2 weeks before the start of the cruise.
Guests with needs and guests with reduced mobility
Some of the ships only have stairs, a fact which can result in restrictions. The A-ROSA SENA, the A-ROSA ALEA, the A-ROSA CLEA and the A-ROSA ALVA are equipped with a lift. This means that decks 1 to 4 and 1 to 3 can be reached without barriers. The sun deck, however, can only be reached via stairs.

During the cruise

Physician
On all routes to the Danube Delta and through the cataracts, a doctor is on board. On all other routes, medical care is guaranteed in the event of an emergency through the infrastructure of the travel area.
Excursions
Almost all ports of call are also starting points for interesting shore excursions. Please also use the information event on board. Please refer to the A-ROSA daily schedule for the times. Bookings can only be made on board. As of February 15, 2025, guests can reserve their excursions online in advance. A-ROSA acts as an agent for the excursions offered; the implementation and accompaniment is carried out by the local agencies, who are therefore also the organizers of the excursions.      
Bath robes
Bathrobes are available upon request from your cabin stewardess or at the reception.
Bars
On the A-ROSA ships A-ROSA AQUA, BRAVA and VIVA the lounge bar is on deck 3. The A-ROSA ships A-ROSA BELLA, DONNA, MIA and RIVA have a café and a lounge bar on deck 3. The A-ROSA ships A-ROSA FLORA, LUNA, SILVA and STELLA have a lounge bar on deck 2. The outside bar on the A-ROSA FLORA, LUNA, SILVA and STELLA is on the sun deck. On the A-ROSA ALVA the lounge bar is on deck 3. The outside bar on the A-ROSA SENA is on the sun deck and the lounge bar is on deck 4. The current opening times can be found on the A-ROSA information channel.
Library and board games
A small onboard library can be found near the reception respectively the excursion counter. On the A-ROSA ALVA this is near the lounge bar. On the A-ROSA SENA there are books and games in the Connected Lounge. On the A-ROSA ALEA and CLEA this is near the Club Lounge.
Language on board
The on-board languages are German and English. All information such as daily programs, notices, menus, etc. are of course available in two languages.
Check-In/Check-Out
Please note that admission to the ship as well as check-in and moving into your cabin are possible as of 15:00 at the earliest (suites as of 12 .). The official end of the cruise and your check-out on the day of departure are at 09:00 at the latest. Please take this into account when planning your arrival and departure.
Concierge-Service
The reception team is at your disposal to fulfill individual requests (e.g. reservation of tickets for cultural experiences and special excursions, organization of transfers)
Announcements
Loudspeaker announcements and automated landscape announcements can be heard on deck and in the cabins (via onboard TV, on embarkation day and in an emergency also via the cabin loudspeakers) and are primarily made before shore excursions and important program items. On the A-ROSA SENA, A-ROSA ALEA, A-ROSA CLEA and A-ROSA ALVA, the automated landscape announcements are transmitted exclusively via the A-ROSA app.
Bikes
E-bikes can be rented on board for individual tours, depending on availability and weather conditions and within a certain period of time. More information about e-bike rental is available on board. It is not possible to bring your own bikes. No bike rental is offered aboard the A-ROSA ALEA, A-ROSA CLEA and A-ROSA ALVA.      
Family cruises and childcare
On selected routes and on selected dates during school holidays, A-ROSA offers special family cruises with child and youth care. The A-ROSA Kids Club is located on deck 1 of the A-ROSA SENA. Outside of family cruises, this can be used under the supervision of a legal adult.
Flyscreens
To protect against insects, there is a fly screen in the form of a roller blind/sliding element on the outside of the balcony door (except on A-ROSA ALEA, CLEA). When operating the roller blind, please ensure that the force is evenly distributed to avoid jamming. The locking mechanism is located at the bottom or, in the case of sliding windows, on the side.
Currency exchange
Currency exchange on board is unfortunately not possible. However, changing offices are usually located in the immediate vicinity of the landing piers.
Hairdryer
A hairdryer is located in your cabin (A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA in the bathroom) in one of the drawers near the mirror or in the closet. In some suites the hairdryer is also located in the bathroom.
Pier
It is common in some cities for port authorities to allocate several vessels to a common mooring due to high traffic volumes. In this case, the ships are side by side and the visibility from your cabin can be compromised. Unfortunately, A-ROSA has no influence on this.
Internet
Aboard the A-ROSA ships it is possible to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Please note that, depending on the route, there may be restrictions on the connection from the onboard network to the Internet. For guests on the "A-ROSA Premium all inclusive" tariff, the use of the internet connection is free of charge in accordance with the applicable terms of use. The use of streaming services is not included.
Clothing
On board and during shore excursions you dress according to your taste, comfortable and casual. Please also think about warmer clothing for the evenings on deck. Sturdy shoes are recommended for shore excursions. Casual clothing (smart-casual) is recommended for dining on board. However, the cruise line asks you not to attend restaurants and bars in swim suits or sportswear and to not go barefoot. The cruise line recommends that gentlemen wear long trousers at the restaurant in the evening.
Air conditioning
Your cabin, like the entire ship, is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin temperature is individually adjustable. When the window is open, the air circulation in the cabin is automatically switched off.
Shore leave times
In EU countries you can leave the ship immediately after docking. In non-EU countries you can only leave your ship after approval by the local authorities. In your own interest, the cruise line would like to ask you to be on board again at the latest 30 minutes before departure. The lay times can change at short notice; please pay attention to announcements and information on the information channel. Please make sure that you collect your shore leave card from reception in the ports before leaving the ship and return it there when you return to the ship. The shore leave cards are used by the ship's management to check whether all guests are back on board. The following also applies on the A-Rosa ALVA: Please pay attention to announcements and information in the daily program. On your shore leave card you will find the telephone number of your ship in case of contact during the shore leave.
Food & alcoholic drinks
It is generally not permitted to bring food and alcoholic beverages on board and to consume them. If you buy alcoholic beverages during the cruise, a maximum of 1 liter per person over 18 years of age may be brought on board. If guests bring their own drinks, liqueurs or bottles of wine for consumption in the cabins, the cruise line reserves the right to charge a service fee of € 20.00 ("corkage fee") to the onboard account. Consuming your own drinks in public areas is prohibited.      
Post
Postcards and letters may be mailed at reception. The mail is sent in the next port or at the end of the voyage.
Smoking
With consideration for ship safety and the health and well-being of guests and crew, all cabins and almost all public areas of the ships are non-smoking areas. Smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes is only permitted on the outside decks. Please do not throw cigarette butts or tobacco products overboard, but use the containers provided for this purpose. There is a strict ban on smoking in the entire interior area as well as in the cabins and suites and on the balconies. Please also observe the strict ban on smoking in the locks and during fuel loading. Furthermore, the consumption of cannabis is strictly prohibited aboard the entire ship.
Itinerary
Please refer to the advertisement for the planned itinerary; subject to change.Due to high and low water levels, maintenance work and traffic-related waiting times at locks and bridges, schedule changes may occur at short notice. In rare cases of severe high or low water levels or force majeure, parts of the journey may have to be covered by bus or train and in individual cases hotel overnight stays may be necessary.
Restaurant
There is no fixed table or seating arrangement. We will gladly reserve a table for you for the entire cruise for a small fee. Table water with the main course is included for all guests.
Reception
The reception is open 24 hours a day and the staff will gladly answer any questions or requests you may have. Occasionally there may be short waiting times because the reception team is on security tour.  
Safe
In your cabin there is a built-in safe for your personal valuables in the closet.
Key card
This card is your key and your credit card at A-ROSA. Please always carry the card with you. In the event of loss, please report to the reception immediately.
Life Jackets
For safety reasons and due to international regulations, your life jacket is in your cabin (on the sun deck on A-ROSA ALEA and CLEA). The emergency assembly point is on the sun deck or in front of the ship. Please pay attention to the captain's announcements. In an emergency, please put on your life jacket and wait in your cabin or at your assembly point for further instructions from the crew.            
Shop
Here you will find a selection from the exclusive A-ROSA collection, a jewelry collection and a selection of perfumes, everyday items and souvenirs. Please refer to the information channel and the A-ROSA app or the daily program for opening times.
Safety
It is essential to observe the safety instructions in the form of information signs and announcements respectively the safety video. On boarding day, all passengers are instructed regarding the ship safety on board.
Sun deck
When passing low bridges, it may be necessary - depending on the water level - for you to leave the sun deck for safety reasons. Please pay attention to the crew's announcements and the information signs.
SPA-ROSA
Here you will find fitness equipment, massage cabins and a relaxation area as well as the following saunas:

 • A-ROSA BELLA/DONNA/MIA: bio and Finnish sauna
• A-ROSA ALVA/RIVA: Finnish sauna
• A-ROSA SENA: Finnish sauna and ice grotto
• A-ROSA LUNA/STELLA: steam and Finnish sauna
• A-ROSA AQUA/BRAVA/FLORA/SILVA/VIVA: adjustable sanarium         
Sockets & power supply
The on-board voltage is 220 V / 50 Hz. A switchable 220/110-V socket for electric shavers and toothbrushes and is in the bathroom - it is not suitable for other electrical equipment. In the cabin there are also several sockets (220 V), which can be used.
Swimming pool
There is a heated swimming pool on the sun deck of the following ships: A-ROSA ALVA, BELLA, DONNA, FLORA, LUNA, MIA, RIVA, SILVA and STELLA. On the A-ROSA SENA, AQUA, BRAVA and VIVA there is a heated swimming pool on the sun deck. A heated whirlpool is located in the spa area. On the A-ROSA SENA there is also a separate shallow water pool for children on the sun deck. On the A-ROSA ALEA and CLEA there is a whirlpool on the sun deck.

All important information and tips can be found on the A-ROSA info channel,the A-ROSA app, the advertisements in the public areas and theannouncements.
Telephone
Incoming calls are forwarded to your cabin by reception. The roaming charges incurred for incoming and outgoing calls made from your cabin are automatically billed to your onboard account. The ships of the A-ROSA fleet are equipped with a modern GSM telephone system that allows you to make calls worldwide using the direct dialing system. If you want to make long-distance calls, please use the following dialing procedure: country code + area code + phone number. There is a toll-free pause of 12 to 30 seconds between dialing and the first ring. After this, the billing begins automatically, even if the subscriber cannot be reached. GSM telephone numbers: Please refer to the relevant phone number of your ship from your key card.
Animals
Animals aboard the ships are not permitted.
Toilets
The ship is equipped with a modern vacuum toilet system and a biological wastewater treatment plant. We urge you not to throw any objects (including hygiene items) into the toilet as this may lead to a failure of the entire system.
Gratuities
The crew is passionate about their job and wants every guest to have an unforgettable holiday. If you are satisfied, our employees would be happy to receive a gratuity in recognition of their service. Most guests reward the effort with € 8,- to € 12,- per guest and day. A gratuity box for the entire crew is available at reception at the end of the cruise. Of course, you can also offer gratuities to the employees individually at any time. It is also possible to use the onboard account or a credit card at the reception.
Drinking water
The water on board has drinking quality. On the A-ROSA ALVA, due to the chlorine content, it is only recommended for washing and brushing teeth.      
TV programs
The TV reception is via satellite. In addition to the TV program, videos on demand are also available on the A-ROSA ALVA and SENA. Reception problems may occur during lock times and on certain sections of the route.
Connecting doors
On the A-ROSA ships A-ROSA AQUA, BRAVA, FLORA, SILVA and VIVA there are two cabins with connecting doors on each deck, which can also be used as family cabins. There are several cabins with connecting doors on deck 3 on the A-ROSA SENA.
Laundry
You can have your laundry washed on board. You will be billed to your onboard account. For suites the service is free of charge.

WI-FI (terms of use)
Availability, performance and transmission speed are not guaranteed. Delays, misconnections or intermittent disruptions may occur. Before using the system, you must ensure that your device is compatible with the services offered. The operator does not provide any software, devices or system settings. In order to be able to use the offer, you must purchase a valid "Internet surfing ticket".
The access data is transmitted in encrypted form on the login page. Suitable encryption methods (e.g. VPN, SSL) and security programs (e.g. antivirus and firewall software) are recommended for all other connections. You accept liability for all your activities in relation to this system. Suspected misuse may result in legal action. No liability of any kind is assumed for the use or non-use of the services offered. The provider has the right, in its sole discretion, to either block or stop any service, any material, any information or to suspend your access to the system. Should any provision of these general terms of use be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining parts shall not be affected.
Means of payment
The currency on board is the euro. During the cruise you use your onboard cabin card on the ship, which also serves as a key card for your cabin. At the end of the cruise, you can settle your final bill either in cash, by Maestro/EC card or by the following credit cards: American Express, Mastercard and Visa card. For technical reasons, payment by bank card and Travelers Check Card is unfortunately not possible. When paying by credit card or EC/Maestro card, you need your PIN code.
Customs regulations
Please observe the applicable customs regulations when importing and exporting goods and foreign currency.There may be checks when crossing the EU borders, and face checks (passport checks) are also possible.

Gratuities on board of A-ROSA
The crew members do their job with great passion and want to prepare for every guest an unforgettable vacation. If you are satisfied, the employees look forward to a gratuity as a recognition for their service. Most guests reward their effort with € 8 to € 12 per guest per day. A gratuity box for the entire crew is available at the end of the journey at the reception. Of course, you can always personally offer the employees a gratuity at any time, billing via the onboard account is also possible.

Please note that the gratuity recommendation (gratuity regulation) does not automatically become part of the contract, but only after a separate confirmation by the consumer (customer). Therefore, prior to booking the voyage, the consent of the consumer (customer) is requested.
