After the aperitif at one of the bars and the wonderful dinner at the specialty restaurant, you can enjoy the wonderful sea air before you visit the theater or challenge your luck in the casino. You can dedicate the next day to  the extensive sports program or rather let yourself be pampered at the SPA.

Before the cruise

When can I check in?
Online check-in is mandatory for all travel participants. For guests arriving and departing on a Mein Schiff flight, check-in is open immediately upon arrival at the port
.The following time frames generally apply to guests with individual arrival and departure:

• Departures from Germany: from 13.00. to 16:00
• All other departures: from 15:00  to 18 00

Please note that deviations are possible. You will receive the exact check-in times with your travel documents.Our suite and junior suite guests as well as guests with a booked VIP price option 1 and 2 have the entire check-in time at their disposal.
Are there any discounts for children?
If accommodated in an additional bed (sofa bed, bunk bed or Pullman bed), children up to and including 14 years of age travel as the third, fourth, fifth or sixth person in the cabin at a reasonablly fixed price for children (depending on the travel period and duration of the cruise). Babies up to the age of two generally travel free of charge in the cabin. When staying in the first or second bed in the cabin, the child discount applies to the child's cruise price. Cheap children's basic prices are calculated for arrival and departure by plane. There is a fixed price for babies, which varies depending on the route. Babies are not entitled to a seat.
Are there non-smoking balconies?
Free choice at the PRO tariff

 Guests of the PRO price can freely choose these cabins, while at the PLUS and PUR prices an automatic allocation takes place, with no guarantee of a specific balcony type.      
When will I receive my travel documents?
You will receive the travel documents by email at the earilest  7 days before your departure. After receiving the travel documents, you can also view and download them in the My Travel Portal in the “Booking & Travel Documents” section until the end of the cruise. If the travel documents are not yet available, the cruise line will ask you to check the ship's manifest if necessary. The travel documents will only be sent after the ship's manifest has been completely filled out.
How do I pay for my cruise?
You can easily pay your bill for all fares by direct debit (up to 14 days before the start of the cruise), by bank transfer (up to 5 days before the start of the cruise) or by credit card. All common cards (except American Diners Club cards) are accepted. Please note that your credit card must be registered for the 3D Secure process before you travel.  
How can I pay my bill on board?
You pay on board in euros - cashless with your boarding pass. Your boarding pass is also your access pass to the ship. We recommend that you provide your American Express, Visa or MasterCard credit card or your German EC card when checking in online in the My Travel Portal. For billing reasons, the cruise line cannot accept EC cards from international banks or Diners Club credit cards. It is also possible that V-Pay cards cannot be read for technical reasons.  
What do I use online check-in for?
Online check-in for your cruise is mandatory for every passenger before the start of your cruise.You can obtain information about possible online check-in for your flight from the respective airline.
Completely filling out the ship's manifest and completing the online check-in are prerequisites for receiving the ship pass and travel documents.  

During the cruise

Can I bring my pet on board?
For safety and hygiene reasons, taking animals on board is not permitted. This also applies to guide and service animals.  
Are there mandatory gratuities on board?
Gratuities are not charged extra. If you would like to give a personal reward to the employees or a specific department on the ship, you can do so at the reception. You will find a special gratuity envelope for this purpose in your cabin.
  
Is there a hospital aboard the Mein Schiff ® fleet?
A modern hospital with predominantly German ship doctors, trained medical staff and primarily German medicines is located on every Mein Schiff ®. The onboard pharmacy is equipped for general illnesses as well as for initial emergency treatment. The equipment of the onboard hospital is not specifically designed for the care of babies and small children. Please see the daily program for office hours. Payment is made by boarding pass; unfortunately billing by health card is not possible. Treatment on a cruise ship is treatment that is equivalent to a private doctor's visit in a third country (flag state Malta). German fee guidelines and German health insurance do not apply on board. The cruise line  therefore recommends that you take out private international travel health insurance. It cannot accept any liability for the full reimbursement of the treatments by your respective personal health insurance company. Guests undergoing medical treatment should carry their medical records with them. In the event of a medical emergency, the patient is disembarked and taken to the nearest hospital on land. It is permitted to take oxygen devices that work with ambient air. Unfortunately, dialysis and dental treatments cannot be carried out on board. Carrying out peritoneal dialysis independently in the cabin is only permitted after prior registration.
Is there a library on board?
The library with a selection of travel and entertainment literature is located on deck 3 in the reception area.Please return the borrowed books after reading or before departure.The library is available to you throughout the day.
Is there a fitness area on board?
The fitness area on board can be found in the Sports & Health area (My Ship 3 – My Ship 6 on Deck 12; My Ship 1, My Ship 2 and My Ship 7 on Deck 15). To access you will need sports clothing and sturdy sports shoes. This area is open to you at all times and also offers the opportunity for stretching and relaxation exercises using various cardio and strength machines.Special training equipment such as the Power Plate are reserved for training with specialist staff and may not be used independently for safety reasons. For health reasons and the risk of injury, training on the weight machines is only possible from the age of 16. The use of cardio equipment and participation in fitness courses is possible from the age of 14. Parents are responsible for their children.
Is there internet access on board?
There are no public internet stations on board.
Are there washing machines or a laundry service on board?
You have the option of having your laundry conveniently cleaned at the onboard laundry. There are laundry bags and a price list in your cabin. The housekeeping staff will bring the completed and signed price list with your laundry or cleaning items to the laundry. If you hand in your laundry by 09:00 you will get it back the next day (simple service) or if you're in a hurry, you' will get your laundry back the same day with the Express Service. Self-service washing machines and irons are not available.
Is there Wi-Fi on board?
You have Wi-Fi access in almost all public areas as well as your cabins. Please also note that reception is only possible to a limited extent.Various daily and volume fares are available on all ships.Wi-Fi access for guests in suites and junior suites is already included in the travel price without volume restrictions.
Is there a minimum age for small children on board?
Babies and small children are only permitted to take part in a cruise if they are 6 months or older at the start of the cruise. For cruises that consist of more than 3 consecutive days at sea, a minimum age of 12 months is required. In general, the fully recommended vaccinations for babies and small children is required.
Is there a luggage service?
So that your relaxation can begin at home, TUI Cruises recommends the luggage service from TEFRA Travel Logistics for a comfortable arrival and departure.Regardless of whether you travel to Mein Schiff ® by car, bus, train or plane, you no longer have to carry heavy suitcases. Depending on the start and destination ports of your cruise, your luggage will be transported from your front door to the departure airport (Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Munich) or even directly onto the ship and from there back home. Direct delivery and collection of your luggage to and from the ship is possible in all German ports (Bremerhaven / Kiel / Hamburg / Warnemünde) as well as in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), Palma de Mallorca (Mallorca), Trieste (Italy) and Valletta (Malta).   
Is there a special dress code on board?
There is no formal dress code on the ships. You are always right with a classic, casual clothing style that is adapted to the temperatures. Please do not appear at the restaurants for dinner in swimwear and shorts.  
Is there food for diabetics and/or allergy sufferers on board?
Please indicate any intolerances and dietary requirements before traveling at www.meinereise.meinschiff.com. At the beginning of the cruise there is an exchange of information between interested guests and the specialist staff, where you can discuss your dietary requirements and food intolerances and allergies. Furthermore, you will receive the Atlantic - Classic lunch and dinner menu for the following day in your cabin throughout the entire cruise. Here you can tick your menu request and hand it in at reception. The following day you will receive your menu request from the cruise line. Even if you have already stated your allergies and intolerances in advance, we would like to ask you to take part in this meeting. This is the only way the cruise line can ensure that you are only served food that you can enjoy without any worries.
In which areas is smoking allowed on board?
Aboard the Mein Schiff ® fleet, your health comes first. That's why all cabins and many public rooms are non-smoking areas. Smoking is only permitted on your own balconies and verandas and in the designated areas. All cigarettes and the like must be completely extinguished in the ashtrays provided. Efforts to continually reduce potential fire hazards include a strict ban on throwing cigarettes or other tobacco products overboard from outside decks, balconies or verandas.

Is it possible to receive cash on board?
Unfortunately, cash withdrawals are not possible on board.
Is it possible to exchange money on board?
Depending on the destination, you can usually change EURO (cash into cash) into the following local currencies at reception:

Can I take my wheelchair on board?
Wheelchairs and electronic wheelchairs (with dry cell batteries) are permitted on board, but moving on board is not allowed to exceed walking pace. Furthermore, for safety reasons, wheelchairs may only be stored in the cabin and not in the hallways. People using electronic wheelchairs must be accommodated in an accessible cabin. The cruise line will gladly check whether you can be accommodated in one of the barrier-free cabins. Please contact your travel agency, who will gladly help you fill out the mandatory questionnaire before booking and send it to TUI Cruises. For safety reasons, guests who are permanently dependent on a wheelchair can only travel in the cabin with an adult companion who is not physically or mentally impaired, as our employees assume no liability for care for insurance reasons. Travel without an appropriate accompanying person is permitted after examining the individual case.
When do I have to leave my cabin?
Your cabin will be available to you until 09:00 on the day of departure.
Which electrical devices can I take on board?
You may bring hairdryers, hair straighteners, curling irons, baby bottle warmers and baby bottle sterilizers.Radios, kettles, irons, steam brushes and heated blankets that you have brought with you may not be used on board. Candles may not be burned in your cabin or anywhere else on board. For safety reasons, you are not permitted to bring your own multiple plugs and extension cables. Tui Cruises will be happy to provide these to you at the reception.
What drinks are available on board?
A diverse selection of drinks at the bars and lounges is already included: coffee specialties, soft drinks, beer, sparkling wine, wine, cocktails, long drinks, spirits, etc. Additional wines, champagne, spirits, cocktails and other selected drinks are also offered for an additional charge.
What language is spoken on board?
The language on board is German. The ships' crew includes over 50 nationalities and almost as many different languages. The crew language is English. Your hosts – regardless of your background – want you to feel comfortable on board. Therefore, German-speaking employees are on duty at all service stations.  
What is the onboard currency?
The onboard currency is the euro.
How do I proceed if I want to reserve a table at a specialty restaurant for more than the maximum number of travel participants?
Please reserve a table for the maximum possible number of people via the My ruise section. You then inform TUI Cruises of the number of participants you actually want by email. The cruise line then checks whether sufficient capacity is available at the desired specialty restaurant. Unfortunately, a message from a larger number of people in the comment field cannot be processed.
What is the voltage in the cabin?
The voltage of the onboard electrical system is 220 volts. A travel plug adapter is not necessary.
How are the cabins of the Mein Schiff fleet equipped?
All cabins have: safe, air conditioning, bathroom with shower, shampoo/shower gel and conditioner, toilet, hairdryer, bathrobe, telephone, flat screen television, espresso machine, water carafe with healing stones.Please also note the markings and legends on the deck plans of the ships. Please note the differences in cabin furnishings depending on the cabin category.

Indoor, outdoor & balcony cabins are available with connecting doors. How much baggage can I take?
There is no free baggage limit for your cruise aboard the Mein Schiff fleet. If you have booked an arrival and departure flight, the airline's baggage regulations apply.  
Is room service offered on board?
The ships offers an exclusive drinks and snack service in all cabins and suites as part of the Diamond Service. This is available 24 hours. The service is exclusive, but no additional service costs are charged.At the Day & Night Bistro on deck 5 you have the opportunity to eat something around the clock.
Where can I find an overview of shore excursions?
You can find an initial selection of shore excursions under the respective cruise route.Select a route in the travel section and view the details. There you will also get a foretaste of the varied shore excursion program. The shore excursions can be viewed and reserved online via your personal access to the Meine Reise portal or the Mein Schiff ® app. There you will also find the exact date of your reservation.

Should I get travel insurance?
The cruise line recommends that you take out comprehensive insurance cover for short-term costs caused by a travel cancellation due to illness, interruption or treatment costs abroad. TUI Cruises premium protection is tailored to your cruise and provides you with complete insurance before and during your cruise.
Where can I find the onboard manger?
You can find your cruise managers at the onboard  manager's office. Here you can find out about your future cruises with the Mein Schiff ® fleet as well as your arrival and departure. Please refer to the daily program or the notices for the opening times of the onboard  manager's office.
