Sitting in the lounge chair by the pool of one of the comfort-class Nile ships, sipping a cocktail or drinking fresh fruit juice, you let the Egyptian Nile landscape pass by. Before the cruise

Gratuities
On international cruises, gratuities are still very important. At the end of the cruise, you can reward your satisfaction with the crew's performance with a gratuity that is "right" for you. Please use the envelope that will be placed in your cabin the night before departure. Please drop the envelopes in the marked and locked box at the reception.The total tips are distributed equally among the entire crew without hierarchical differences. Would you like a gratuiti recommendation? If you are satisfied with the service, a guideline of €5.00 to €7.00 per guest/day applies.

During the cruise

Doctor/pharmacy
Please contact reception if you are not feeling well. As there is usually no doctor on board, the hotel crew is not permitted to give you medication for legal reasons. However, a doctor can be reached on land at short notice at any time. Reception can be reached 24 hours a day by calling 9.
Audio devices
This ship has audio equipment that is used on numerous excursions to optimize the acoustic accompaniment of the excursion. You will receive your own personal earphone and an audio receiver including a lanyard. You are also welcome to use your own earphones. Important information and detailed instructions on how to use the equipment will be provided by your cruise director during the excursion presentation. The devices are user-friendly and the volume can be individually adjusted. In the event of a technical defect or loss, please contact the cruise director.
Excursions
All information about excursions and excursion processing can be obtained from your 1AVista cruise manager at the cruise manager counter on the upper deck. Before leaving the ship, please exchange your cabin card for the shore card at the reception. Please pay attention to the announcements!
Payment
The onboard currency is the EURO. Aboard the ship, your personal expenses such as bar drinks or shop souvenirs will be booked to your cabin number and paid for at the end of the cruise with credit cards VISA or MasterCard, German EC card or cash in EURO. Money exchange from or into foreign currencies is not possible on board.         ​
Board announcements
The ship is equipped with a loudspeaker system that allows the cruise line to reach you throughout the ship. At interesting sections of the route, you will hear the cruise director's commentary. You will also be informed about the start of excursions and program changes.
Diet / light food
If you need a special diet or light meal, please inform the cruise line in good time before you the start of the cruise so that your wishes can be passed on to the chef/maître d'hotel.      
Sockets
In your cabin there are several sockets and USB ports with a voltage of 220 V (European standard). For safety reasons, no electrical devices other than razors, hair dryers and chargers may be used in the cabin.
TV
The ship has a satellite system. Television reception is guaranteed for most of the route. When sailing under bridges and staying in locks as well as on certain sections of the route, there may be short-term reception problems. We ask for your understanding.
Hairdryer
In the bathroom you will find a hair dryer.
Health
You should inform yourself in good time about infection and vaccination protection as well as other prophylactic measures.; if necessary, medical advice should be obtained. Reference is made to general information, in particular from health authorities, doctors experienced in travel medicine or the Federal Center for Health Education.
Drinks
On board you can enjoy your included drinks package at the bar/salon and at the restaurant between 08:00 and 24:00. Outside these times and drinks not included in the package will be charged to your cabin account.
Towels
In order to protect the environment by reducing the use of detergent, you are asked to place the towels you would like to have replaced with fresh ones on the floor. Towels on the rack mean that you would like to use them again.      
Animals
Pets are not allowed on board.
Internet
You can get an internet access code from reception for a fee and use the internet on board via Wi-Fi. Depending on the route, there may be restrictions in terms of reception. For more information, please contact reception.           
Cabin cleaning
If you want to sleep in, please hang the "do not disturb" door hanger on the outside of your cabin door. When you leave your cabin in the morning, you can hang the "Please clean cabin" door hanger on your door.
Children and young people travel at no cost
On many ships, children and young people from 2 to 12 years of age travel at no cost in certain cabin categories in one cabin with two full-paying guests or one full-paying guest in a cabin for single use.
Dress code
Sporty and comfortable is the motto on board. The cruise line would like to kindly ask you to enter the restaurant and the salon in appropriate clothing. Shorts and swimwear are not permitted at the restaurant. Appropriate clothing is recommended for the gala dinner. Sturdy shoes are advisable for excursions.
Air conditioning
All rooms on board are air-conditioned. While the air conditioning at the restaurant, lounge and public rooms is centrally controlled, you can regulate the temperature in your cabin individually. Please note that the effectiveness of the air conditioning is only guaranteed when the windows and doors are closed.
Shore leaves
After docking in each port, you can disembark the ship after the authorities and the captain have given clearance. Please pay attention to the on-board announcements! Please refer to the daily program for the ship's departure times.The cruise line asks you to be on board half an hour before departure as your river cruise ship will depart on time. The ship cannot wait for late passengers due to the given schedule.
Tap water
The water on board is drinking water quality and is safe for personal hygiene. Since it is stored in tanks and is not running water, the cruise line  recommends that you order mineral water at the bar or restaurant.      
Deck chairs
Some destinations are particularly in demand. Due to the increased number of ships associated with this, several ships are moored next to each other at some piers. This can temporarily lead to impaired visibility and noise. The ship may have to maneuver during lay times due to passenger or ferry ships. After the maneuver, the ship returns to the dock! A possible change of the pier can be scheduled at short notice by the port authorities.  
Restaurant
Meal times will be announced in the daily program. In order to guarantee a smooth service process, the cruise line asks you to appear punctually at the beginning of the meal times. The table allocation is made upon arrival. Please keep your allocated seat for the entire cruise The cruise line will be happy to look after your physical well-being at the restaurant.      
Medical care
There is no doctor available on board during most cruises - but the ship can stop at any time to provide medical care. In an emergency, the crew will be happy to help you find a pharmacy or doctor at any time. A doctor is usually present on cruies to the Danube Delta. The crew is trained in first aid and a defibrillator is available at reception. For legal reasons, medications are generally not allowed to be handed out on board. Please contact reception if you are not feeling well.
Smoking on board
Please note that smoking is only permitted on the outer decks. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the entire ship and in the cabins. This also applies to e-cigarettes.On the sun deck you are asked to use the ashtrays in the smoking areas. For safety reasons, please do not throw cigarettes overboard.  
Reception
The reception is open 24 hours for you. The night receptionist does a security tour of around 10 minutes every hour on the hour, then there may be a short waiting time at reception. We ask for your understanding in this regard.
Wheelchair and rollator
For safety reasons, walking frames and wheelchairs may not be placed in the aisles, either during the day or at night. The cruise line asks you to store these in your cabin. There may be public areas where you can leave your walking aid as an alternative. Please contact the cruise line.
   
Safe
Each cabin is equipped with a safe that works with a personal code. This means that only you have access. When going on shore excursions, it is advisable to only carry a small amount of money with you. It is recommended to keep valuables close to your body and avoid flashy jewelry. Be careful of pickpockets, especially in big cities!      
Daily program
The daily programs for the next day will be placed in your cabins during dinner. In addition to the meal times, the daily program also shows the arrival and departure of the ship, the start of shore excursions and the times for other activities on board.
Stairs
Please note that some of the stairs on board are steep and there may be an increased risk of slipping when wet. "One hand belongs to the ship." Make sure you always use the stair handrails and proceed with appropriate care while on board.
Laundry service
If you want to hand in laundry, use the laundry bag provided in your cabin. Fill out the enclosed laundry order and put both together in the laundry bag on your bed. You will receive back your clothes washed and ironed  within 24 hours. The costs can be found in the respective price list in your cabin.There is no laundry service the day before your disembarkation.
Wi-Fi
On most ships, the cruise line offers Wi-Fi for a fee. Please note that depending on the route, there may be severe restrictions or connection failure

Documents and papers

Guest survey
Towards the end of the cruise you will find a guest questionnaire in your cabin. You will be asked to fill it out and hand it in at the reception. Alternatively, you can submit your review online, which will be automatically forwarded and evaluated. The cruise line is constantly striving to improve its service and respond to the wishes of its guests. The cruise line is therefore grateful for your suggestions.
Travel documents
For German citizens, a valid ID card or passport is required for all cruises. Travelers with other nationalities please contact your travel agency! The cruise cannot be started without valid identity and travel documents.
Travel documents
You will receive your travel documents after receipt of payment about 10 days before departure. In order to protect the environment, we try to send all travel documents by email. Please give us your email address upon booking.

Travel documents:
A passport is required for the cruise which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the cruise. A visa is also required for this cruise which is issued at the Egyptian airport without any major formalities. The tour guide will help obtain a visa. The costs are currently approx. € 35,- and are to be paid in cash on site
