Passengers are entitled to one suitcase per person. The suitcase must not exceed the dimensions 76.2 x 53.3 x 27.9 cm and weigh a maximum of 23 kg.

Smoking is restricted to the designated smoking areas and is not permitted neither in the cabins nor on the balconies and terraces.

Please read your (travel) insurance policies carefully and take them on your cruise. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you take out is suitable and appropriate for your particular needs.
Captain's instructions
For the comfort and safety of passengers, the instructions of the Captain, the Discovery Team and the Cruise Director must be followed at all times.In the event of a refusal to follow the instructions of the captain, the Discovery Team, the cruise director, another employee or (service) provider, SCENIC can terminate the contractual relationship and exclude the passenger from the cruise with immediate effect, insofar as the behavior of the passenger's own health, safety jeopardizes the health, safety or travel enjoyment of other passengers.
Sightseeing, excursions and special activities
a) Sightseeing: many historical towns and places can only be visited on foot because they are not accessible by coach. A reasonable level of fitness is therefore required as the sightseeing tour may involve steps and long walks over uneven terrain;
b) Mountain excursions: some shore excursions include excursions into the mountains at high altitudes.
c) Discovery experiences:a reasonable level of mobility is required to participate in most tours. Discovery experiences, including but not limited to inflatable boat tours, are subject to governmental approval and prevailing weather conditions. Tours can be booked during the cruise with your cruise director and are subject to availability, seasonal and operational factors. Some activities have a mandatory minimum or maximum number of participants to be implemented.
d) For expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic, as well as excursions to mountain regions and Discovery Experiences (e.g. by inflatable boat, kayak, helicopter, e-bike, submersible boat or with scuba diving equipment). an appropriate level of physical fitness and health on the part of participants is required. It is recommended that travelers consult a doctor before booking,to ensure that they are of an appropriate level of physical fitness and good health for the cruise in question.
e) The sports and water activities equipment listed in the brochure may not be available in all ports or is subject to availability.
f) The operation of all excursions/tours is subject to us receiving a minimum number of bookings. If the minimum booking number is not reached, a planned excursion/tour can be canceled or changed by us.
Images, illustrations and maps
a) Unless otherwise stated, we make no representations regarding the facilities, quality or dimensions of any accommodation or cruise ships. All images are for illustration purposes only and may differ from the actual product or actual conditions available; some images may also have been digitally processed for reproduction purposes.
b) Maps or representations of cruise itineraries contained in cruise or other brochures are for guidance only and should not be relied upon as representing the actual itinerary during the cruise. The actual travel route results from the travel documents.
On Board Language
The language on board Emerald ‘Star-Ships’ is English. All staff, crew and tour guides speak English and all announcements and lectures will be made in English.
Dock position
When in port, ships may dock side by side, obstructing visibility.
Drones
General prohibition:
Unless provided by us or an operator as part of an organized activity during your cruise, the use of drones is strictly prohibited at all times.
b) You should also be aware that in addition to the prohibition in paragraph a), the use of drones is regulated or prohibited in many places by law and that unlawful/illegal use may result in arrest or prosecution by the relevant authorities.
c) If we or an operator allow you to operate a drone as part of an organized activity during your cruise, you must strictly follow all instructions from the leader of that activity.
Electricity & Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi is available on board, however ships operate in domestic and international waters. So Wi-Fi connection speeds can sometimes be slow depending on where you are. There may be cases where no signal is available. The cruise line does not guarantee the availability and quality of internet connections, nor does it accept liability for any problems that may arise.      
Noise, vibration and smells
Although we take reasonable steps to minimize noise, vibration and odor on the ships, you acknowledge and accept that a number of noises, vibrations and occasional odors can be encountered on ships and that we in relation to you cannot be held responsible for such noises, vibration or smells.
Medical services, ship doctor
The presence of a ship doctor is only owed if this fact is expressly provided for in the cruise description. The services of the ship doctor are not contractual services of Emerald. The ship doctor carries out his work independently and on his own responsibility and is not subject to any instructions from Emerald or the ship crew. The travel price does not include any services provided by the ship doctor; these are to be paid exclusively by the traveler himself. Emerald Cruises does not owe any information about the possibilities of treatment on a health insurance certificate or the costs of statutory health insurance companies and/or corresponding reimbursements from statutory or private health insurance companies. The ship' doctor is neither a subcontractor nor a vicarious agent of Emerald. Emerald Cruises is not liable for the accessibility and availability of the ship's doctor, for compliance with certain consultation and treatment times, for omitted treatment or assistance or for treatment errors.
The treatment on the ship is a treatment that is equivalent to a doctor's visit abroad (e.g. in Switzerland, Bahamas, Myanmar, Vietnam). Payment is made by boarding card, billing by insurance card is not possible. Emerald Cruises is not liable for the part or full reimbursement of treatment costs by the traveler's respective health insurance.
Extensive medical treatment on board is only possible to a limited extent. Dialysis and dental treatments cannot be carried out on board. The range of products at the onboard pharmacy is for general illnesses and for forst-aid emergency treatment. In the event of a medical emergency, the patient will be disembarked and taken to a nearby hospital on land. The travel guest/patient bears the associated costs. Guests requiring medical treatment should carry their medical records with them.
Emerald Cruises recommends that before embarkation passengers should inquire about the benefits of their health insurance when traveling abroad or that they take out private foreign health insurance which also offers the passenger insurance cover for the risks associated with a cruise, including costs for medical care and costs and expenses incurred by the passenger due to a medical evacuation that may be required from remote areas.
Emerald Cruises accepts no liability for the provision of any medical care or the adequacy of any care/supervision that may be provided.
Smoking on board
Smoking is restricted to designated smoking areas and is not permitted neither in the cabinsn or on balconies and terraces.

Power supply on board
The voltage on board is 220 volts - you will need a universal travel plug adapter to use your electrical equipment.
Currency and credit cards
Most of the countries visited use the euro, although some countries have another currency. For small purchases on shore leaves or in small towns, it is an advantage to have local currency with you. Credit cards are accepted in many places. Before the start of the cruise you should make sure that your card and PIN work in your destination countries. All onboard purchases are credited to your onboard account. The currencies on board are USD and EUR depending on the destination.
