MS Artania - a modern globetrotter

A cabin like a room at a luxury hotel, dinner in front of the breathtaking panorama with a view of the lake - and then the nightly revue in the show lounge begins: all this promises a holiday of the extra class. And is not that the captain of "Crazy for the Sea"?

The MS Artania is one of the highlights of the cruise line Phoenix. All cabins are spacious and many have a private balcony with lake views. Culinarilyy the kitchen will meet even the highest demands. Also the physical and emotional well-being is provided for with spa, fitness area and numerous pools.

The ship Artania has only 600 outside cabins. With a maximum occupancy of 1,200 guests, none of the nine passenger decks is ever overcrowded and offers plenty of room for a wonderful vacation in a unique setting and a top crew.

Many shore excursions and onboard events are accompanied by a professional photographer and cameraman. The photos taken can be purchased on board from the photo shop.You can order the video of your cruise from Cruise Vision on board or after the end of your cruise.
Wedding arrangements
Spending the best day of your life aboard a cruise ship is something very special! But even if your wedding took place some time ago, you can celebrate this special experience by renewing your wedding vows on board. The ceremony is carried out by the captain or onboard chaplain and is purely symbolic. In order to ensure the necessary peace and quiet for preparation, wedding ceremonies or renewals of wedding vows are possible aboard the ocean-sailing ships MS Amadea, MS Amera, MS Artania and MS Deutschland for cruises as of 10 days or more.
Internet access
It is possible to use the Internet via satellite connection on the ships. Accessibility or usability may be restricted accordingly. Depending on the sailing area and sea conditions, connection disruptions may occur (e.g. stay/sailing in fjords). Since the connection setup is not comparable to a landline connection, it is not possible to use this connection for transmission to use large files. This also includes services such as audio/video streaming (e.g. YouTube, Internet radio) or voice/video chat (e.g. Skype, Microsoft Messenger).Basically, regular surfing on the Internet and sending/receiving emails with appropriate programs (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) work well.
Please note here too, that a ship only has a certain number of entrances and exits to the onboard satellite antenna and transmission delays may occur depending on the number of users.To use the Internet, you can purchase “data volume packages” with different amounts on board. You can find out about the respective prices in the information folder in your cabin or on the portal page (registration page) of the ship's own internet booking system.The data volume can be used both with your own devices and with the computers at the Internet café on board.Your own devices can be used via Wi-Fi in all passenger cabins and most public areas (except restaurants).
Cabin presents
You are welcome to send your greetings to guests of the ocean-sailing ships. The cruise line offers you the opportunity to order various gifts, such as vouchers for excursions or bar drinks (minimum amount € 25), combined with your personal greeting.The cabin greeting will be delivered directly to the cabin on the first few days of the cruise.         ​
Suitcase packing made easy
Most guests prefer to dress casually during the day during their vacation.Sporty-elegant clothing is recommended for dinner. On special occasions, such as the captain's reception or gala evenings, elegant, festive evening wear is often worn aboard MS Amadea, MS Amera, MS Artania and MS Deutschland.
The wearing of swimwear and sportswear is not permitted on the premises of each ship. In your cabin you will find a bathrobe for use on board, and a bath towel for use on deck is also available.Good footwear and comfortable casual clothing are recommended for shore excursions. There is a laundry aboard the ocean-sailing ships and washing machines, dryers and ironing rooms for personal needs (except on MS Deutschland).
Shore excursions:
All shore excursions can be booked online at least two months up to five days before the start of the cruise. You can also see the excursion descriptions here with prices for your booked excursion. Payment for the excursions is made on board.
Medical care/oxygen equipment
The ocean-sailing ships all have a modern hospital run by an experienced German-speaking ship doctor.
The services of the ship doctor are not part of the travel contract.
In all cases, the ship doctor charges a fee and the cost of medication for his use. Medicines can only be dispensed in conjunction with medical consultations. Remuneration guidelines of health insurance companies in Germany do not apply, so the cruise line strongly recommends taking out private international travel health insurance. No liability is assumed for the reimbursement of the treatments by your respective personal health insurance company.
You should definitely take sufficient quantities of medication that have already been prescribed at home with you on board (appropriate to the cruise you have booked). The medical care is not equipped to provide long-term treatment for chronic illnesses or to treat emergencies in the long term, so in these cases disembarkation must take place and the passengers must be taken to the nearest hospital on land.
Unfortunately, dialysis and dental treatments cannot be carried out on board. It is also not possible to carry out dialysis independently in the cabin. If necessary, the ship doctors can consult with their specialist colleagues at the Beta Clinic in Bonn.
Oxygen devices
 It is possible and permitted to take along oxygen devices that work with ambient air (apnea devices/concentrators). Please note the baggage regulations for flights. For safety reasons, it is not permitted to take devices with liquid oxygen.
Ship tours
Ship tours are usually possible in every German port. In order to enable you to make a short visit on board, the cruise line needs some information from you, which they must pass on to the respective port authorities and ship management.

Boutiques
The onboard boutiques offer a selection of women's and men's clothing, perfumes, jewelry, cosmetics, drugstore items, confectionery and souvenirs.
Diets/food intolerances
Before booking, please be sure to find out whether it is possible to accommodate special dietary requirements and food intolerances on the ship you have booked. It is also an advantage if the cruise line can forward your wishes to the ship in advance.There will also be a meeting on board between affected guests and the responsible crew member, where you can discuss your dietary requirements and food intolerances and allergies.
Smoking on board
The cruise line asks for your understanding that smoking is only permitted in the designated areas.The smoking areas for cigarettes and e-cigarettes on MS Amadea are located in the Havana Club and on the outside decks (not Lido deck). The smoking areas on MS Amera are located in a section of Harry's Bar and in the Phoenix Lounge on the promenade.Deck. Smoking is expressly not permitted in all other areas.On MS Artania in the Pacific Lounge and the outside decks (not Lido deck). On MS Deutschland in the “Zum alten Fritz” Bar and on the outside decks (except Lido deck). Smoking cigars and pipes in the ship's premises is generally not permitted.

MS Amadea: Two equivalent restaurants “Four Seasons” and “Amadea” offer around 620 seats, so that all guests can be seated at one table time. Restaurant “Four Seasons”: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the table. Breakfast is also possible in buffet form. Restaurant “Amadea”: Breakfast and lunch are offered in buffet form. Weather permitting, you can dine outside on the adjacent Lido deck. Dinner is served at the table. You also have the opportunity to reserve a table at the Pichler’s Restaurant for a special evening (reservations are only possible on board, at no extra charge).

MS Amera: Two equivalent restaurants “Ozean” and “Amera”. The Lido Buffet Restaurant offers additional seating so that all guests can be seated at one time. Restaurant »Ozean«: Lunch and dinner are served at the table. Buffet breakfast. Restaurant »Amera«: Breakfast is offered in buffet form. Lunch and dinner are served on site. Lido Restaurant: All meals in buffet style.You also have the opportunity to reserve a table at the Pichler’s Restaurant for a special evening (reservations are only possible on board, at no extra charge).

MS Artania: Two equivalent restaurants “Four Seasons” and “Artania” offer around 900 seats. The modern one offers a further 280 places at the Lido buffet restaurant, so that all guests can be seated at one table time. Restaurant “Four Seasons”: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the table.;Breakfast is also possible in buffet form. Restaurant »Artania«: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the table.Lido Restaurant: All meals in buffet style. Weather permitting, you can dine outside on the adjacent Lido deck.You also have the opportunity to reserve a table at the Pichler’s Restaurant for a special evening (reservationsare only possible on board, at no extra charge).On MS Amadea, MS Amera and MS Artania, long opening times are planned, especially for lunch and dinner, so that you can eat sooner or later according to your habits, with free choice of seating.

MS Deutschland: Restaurant »Berlin«:
Breakfast and lunch are served from the extensive buffet during long opening hours and free choice of seating. Dinner is offered with a menu selection at two different table times (with table reservations around 18:00  and approx. 20:00 ). Restaurant »4 Seasons«: Dinner à la carte (with table reservations only on board).
Lido Restaurant: All meals in buffet form with free choice of seating. Weather permitting, you can dine outside on the adjacent Lido deck. You also have the opportunity to reserve a table at the Pichler’s Restaurant for a special evening (reservations are only possible on board, at no extra charge).
Wheelchair users
MS Amadea, MS Amera, MS Artania and MS Deutschland are partly suitable for wheelchair users.

MS Amadea: on the panoramic deck (deck 10) there are two junior suites (129, 130) that are wheelchair/disabled friendly. These cabins have wide door entrances, no threshold to the bathroom, a shower with grab bars and, thanks to less furniture in the cabin, more freedom of movement for a wheelchair.

MS Amera is partly suitable for wheelchair users. There are cabins (801, 807, 820, 828, 1016 and 1019) on the Saloon Deck and on the Jupiter Deck that are wheelchair/disabled friendly. These cabins have wide door entrances, no threshold to the bathroom and a shower with grab bars.

MS Artania: on the Apollo Deck (Deck 6) there are three cabins (6608, 6609, 6611) and a junior balcony suite (6606) that are wheelchair/disabled friendly. These cabins have wide door entrances, no threshold to the bathroom and a shower with grab bars.

MS Deutschland: on the Admirals Deck (Deck 8) there is cabin 8042, which is wheelchair/disabled friendly. This cabin has wide door entrances, no threshold to the bathroom, a shower with grab bars and a seat. The design of the ships is not suitable for wheelchairs. Right from the start, wheelchair users have also been among the satisfied guests. The ships are not recommended for guests who always rely on a wheelchair. For example, in some places on the ship there are steps that cannot be used with a wheelchair. The following applies to all other cabins (except the cabins mentioned above): The bathrooms cannot be accessed with a wheelchair. Access to the cabins (door width 55 cm) is only possible with light folding wheelchairs. Although it is available on MS Amadea, MS Amera,MS Artania and MS Deutschland have several elevators that connect the passenger decks, not all rooms can be reached by wheelchair.Guests with walking difficulties, who are often dependent on a wheelchair, should always book with an accompanying person, as there is no special support staff available on board. Please also note that certain routes are not recommended for wheelchair users.In ports where ships are anchored, wheelchair users are often unable to go ashore. In addition, the local infrastructure is sometimes extremely difficult, especially in non-European ports.
Pregnancy
For safety reasons, the cruise line advises expectant mothers not to take a cruise after the 24th week of pregnancy.
Gratuity
Gratuities on the Phoenix ships are not mandatory, but are gladly accepted. If you are satisfied with the service, the guideline may be approx. € 4, - / 5, - per day / guest. At the bars, the cash bills are signed off and paid in full at the end of the journey. The cash bill is added a gratuity of 7%.
Wellness
Unwind. Reservations for the spa & wellness area are possible about 2 weeks before the start of the cruise.

MS Amadea has a small outdoor swimming pool, whirlpool, jogging path, golf course, fitness center and a large wellness oasis with spa area, hairdresser and beauty salon, saunas, adventure showers, ice temple, steam bath, relaxation room. Massage (for a fee).

MS Amera has an outdoor swimming pool, 1 whirlpool, fitness center and a large wellness oasis with a spa area, hairdresser and beauty salon, saunas, steam bath, relaxation room. Massage (for a fee).

MS Artania has two outdoor swimming pools, a whirlpool, a jogging path, a fitness center and a spa/wellness area with a hairdresser and beauty salon, a sauna and a steam bath. Massage (for a fee).

MS Deutschland has an outdoor and an indoor pool, a spa/wellness area with saunas, hairdresser and beauty salon, shuffleboard, fitness center. Massage (for a fee). Reservations for the SPA & wellness area are possible approx. 3 weeks before the start of the cruise.

Please find out which travel document is required for your cruise and pay attention to its validity and that there are enough free pages in the passport.

You will receive information about visas and vaccination requirements for long-distance travels approximately 2 months before the start of your cruise. This information applies to German citizens. Travel documents
You will receive the digital travel documents approx. 2-3 weeks before the start of your cruise. They contain your travel plan with the services you have booked, luggage tags, embarkation instructions and a travel guide compiled for the cruise including excursion program. Available in paper form upon request.
Payment methods on board
The official onboard currency is the EURO. VISA, MasterCard and German girocards are accepted, billing in euros.The particularly affordable cash prices and the low additional costs on board are another plus point for an unforgettable cruise.

Single occupancy reservations:
Two-bed cabins are offered for single occupancy at short notice according to availability (50% surcharge on the passage price).

Family cabins:
In the categories H, J, O, Q, R there are some cabins in the hall connected by door that can be booked together. More information is available upon request.

Children/ youth discount:
Children aged 2-11  receive a 20% discount on the passage price if the accommodation is not in an additional bed. Infants up to 2 years are not permitted embarkation.

Travel combination:
When you combine two or more successive cruises, you receive a combined discount of € 50, - per person.

Prices per person for occupancy with 2 persons per cabin, except otherwise stated. Before sending the request respectively the booking the price of the cabin (including possibly booked additional services) is shown. The crossed out prices are (former) catalog prices of the operator to which the calculated discount refers. Errors and omissions excepted. The regulations and general terms and conditions (GTC) of the respective organizer apply. Gratuities and service charge on board of Phoenix Seereisen
Gratuities are not mandatory, but are welcome. If you are satisfied with the service, a guideline amount of € 5, - to € 7, - per guest per day applies.

For all drinks and spa treatments purchased on board, a service charge of 7 % will be added.

Please note that the gratuity recommendation (gratuity regulation) as well the service charge regulation do not automatically become part of the contract, but only after a separate confirmation by the consumer (customer). Therefore, prior to booking the voyage, the consent of the consumer (customer) is requested.
