On this family trip, your loved ones have their own individual program on land. Experienced supervisors ensure that exploring new territory is always an exciting undertaking for all young cruisers from the age of four on special excursions for children and teens (subject to a fee). Of course, family excursions (for a fee) are also offered, which are tailored to joint discoveries by you and your children. Back on board, an eventful day comes to an end with the children and caregivers having dinner together in the Lido Café. Upon request, a babysitter (for a fee) will take care of your little ones afterwards. So that you can sleep in peace, the late riser service is offered on days at sea: Loving nannies will pick up your offspring at 08.00 for breakfast. And on days when you go ashore, adjusted care times allow you to take part in excursions (for a fee) without your offspring.

The 62-year-old father of a daughter is an experienced PGA master professional and is generally enthusiastic about sports (track and field, ball sports, swimming, cross-country skiing, etc.). He completed his extensive training at the Technical University of Munich (sports studies) and at the Feldafing Golf Club (PGA of Germany training), then at the Ist - Studieninstitut (golf operations manager), the Titleist Performance Institute and the Cologne Trainer Academy (athletic trainer). With over 40 years of experience as a trainer of all performance and age groups with many Bavarian titles, national players, Bundesliga teams and playing pros, Martin Höcker received the award for PGA Master Professional in 2003 and BGV trainer of the year in 2010/2011. Martin Höcker is currently working as a PGA trainer with a DGV-A trainer license, as a head professional at the Chiemsee Golf Club in Prien and is a co-owner of the golf school "m&n professionalgolf - reisen". Martin Höcker is looking forward to his time on board and, together with our golfers, has the goal of staying healthy and successful through golf.

In terms of golf, this trip is really picking up speed. After a detour to the north coast of Morocco, it goes from the south-east of Spain back to the European mainland in the south of Portugal. Before the cruise

Embarkation / disembarkation
The embarkation can begin in all ports approximately two hours before departure - usually starting from 16:00. At all departure ports worldwide, the official embarkation time ends at 18:00, unless the departure time is earlier, as specified in the schedule.
If you arrive at the port later than 18:00 pm, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises asks for a prior notification, provided that you have booked your arrival individually and not via Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. For safety reasons a photo is taken of each guest upon embarkation. Disembarkation usually takes place between 08:00 and 10:00. All departing guests must have left the ship for regulatory reasons until the end of disembarkation. You will receive the exact arrival and disembarkation times with your travel documents.
Guests with mobility restrictions
Cruises on the EUROPA are only suitable to a very limited extent for guests with restricted mobility.. Please note that many of the landings planned by the cruise line are done with Zodiacs and shore activities require a high level of physical fitness, so your cruise may only be guaranteed if there are no mobility restrictions.
The EUROPA has two suites (suites 733 and 734), which are wheelchair accessible. Nevertheless, the cruise line strongly recommends that you travel together with a responsible escort as care is not possible due to the special procedures oboard the ship.
Certain groups of people can only travel together with an escort. Please bring your own wheelchair in standard size or other medical device if you need it.
Electric wheelchairs and assistance dogs cannot be taken. Please note that participation in shore activities and landings by the Zodiacs (weather permitting) may be impossible for guests with physical disabilities.
The cruise line reserves the right to make participation in group activities dependent on the complete activity being able to be carried out without any external help.
Unfortunately, guests who rely on a wheelchair cannot be transported bu Zodiac. Disembarkation by tender boats (when the ship is at anchor) is also dependent on the weather and cannot always be guaranteed. To help you have a restful and smooth cruise, please specify the type of your mobility restriction before booking and clarify with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises before booking whether the cruise line can meet your individual needs.
Honeymoon special
Are you spending your honeymoon or your round wedding anniversary on the EUROPA? Then Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is looking forward to inviting you to unique moments and gastronomic highlights with the exclusive honeymoon special. You can add the honeymoon special to your booking at your travel agency or directly at Hapag-Lloyd Cruises upon presentation of your wedding certificate.

** Valid only for travels as of a travel duration of seven days.
The offer is only valid for honeymoon journeys (up to a maximum of six months after the wedding) for a maximum of six months after the wedding) and for journeys on the 10th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th and 65th wedding anniversaries (up to one month before or after the wedding day). Proof is a copy of the marriage certificate.
Hygiene / Prevention
For Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, the safety and health of guests and crew is always the top priority. Appropriate safety, prevention and hygiene measures are therefore standard aboard all Hapag-Lloyd Cruises ships. Each cruise is accompanied by qualified medical staff. The very well-equipped ship hospital has a laboratory that can also be used to detect viral diseases. In the event of an infection, the high hygiene status OPP Level 3 automatically applies. Among other things, this provides for even more intensive cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces.


Clothing recommendations
On board
There is no fixed dress code aboard the EUROPA. However, the cruise line would like to give you the following recommendation. During the day, guests should dress in sporty clothing. In the evenings at the restaurants on deck 4, men wear sporty-elegant clothing, i.e. a jacket or summer suit - a tie is not required. Women dress accordingly. In the evenings, a jacket is not required at the Lido Café and in Pearls. Shorts, T-shirts and flip-flops are not permitted at the restaurants on deck 4 during the day and in the evenings at all restaurants and in the event rooms. There is a welcome and a farewell evening on every cruise. On short cruises of up to four nights, there is only a welcome evening. Evening wear is recommended for these occasions (men: suit, women appropriate).

On land
For excursions or private shore excursions, clothing should definitely be comfortable, practical and appropriate to the destination. Sturdy shoes are recommended, flat shoes are essential for ship and land. For outings by the Zodiac to colder regions, it is recommended to wear waterproof clothing and shoes to protect yourself from the water.
Umbrellas / parasols
If it rains or the sun shines very strongly, you are offered large, practical umbrellas/parasols in the gangway. After returning on board, you can simply return them in the gangway.
Means of paymnent on board
Hapag Lyod-Cruises has opted for cashless payment transactions aboard the EUROPA 2. The on-board currency is the euro. The cruise  company accepts the German Girokarte and the following credit cards: MasterCard, American Express and Visa.

If you wish, you can simply sign the bills for drinks and tobacco products in the lounges and bars as well as for the laundry, boutique, shore excursions, photo and film service and OCEAN SPA during the cruise and they will be charged to your onboard account.

You can find out about your current account balance at any time via the guest portal or at  the reception. The total bill will be settled at the reception at the end of your cruise. You can use the above means of payment, but also pay cash.

During the cruise

Travel Concierge
For the realization of customized land and travel arrangements, the organization of your personal desired program and the execution of all necessary bookings, you are offered a comprehensive service via the travel concierge before and during your cruise. These services are not included in the travel price and are subject to availability.
Medical services
The EUROPA has a ship hospital on deck 3 under the direction of an experienced ship doctor. All office hours of the doctor can be found in the daily program. Guests who are under medical treatment should contact the ship doctor immediately after embarkation. Please be sure to take any medication you need with you in your hand luggage (to an amount that is sufficient for the entire cruise).
Treatment for seasickness is chargeable if you use medical services. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises offers you thrombosis prophylaxis on board if required (for a fee).
Treatment on board is treatment equivalent to visiting a doctor abroad (Malta flag state). German fee guidelines and German health insurance do not apply on board. You are therefore recommended that you take out private travel health insurance. Payment is made by boarding card, billing by insurance card is not possible. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises cannot accept liability for the reimbursement of the treatments in full by your respective personal health insurance.
Extensive medical treatment on board is only possible to a limited extent. For example, the equipment of the onboard hospital is not specifically designed for the care of babies and small children. In addition, the onboard pharmacy is stocked with a range of products for general illnesses and for initial/emergency treatment. In the event of a medical emergency, the patient will be disembarked and taken to a nearby hospital on land. The associated costs are to be borne by the patient. Guests requiring medical treatment should carry their medical records with them. 
Bathrobe
You will find your bathrobe behind the bathroom door in your suite. If it doesn't fit, your suite stewardess will be gladly bring you the right size.      
Bars
Club Belvedere (Deck 8)
Enjoy the magnificent panoramic view at tea and coffee time, which also provides the perfect setting for classical concerts, readings and matinees.
Gatsby's (Deck 4)
Modern bar for evening events and late-night specials with specially created cocktails, jukebox and dance floor. Gatsby's is open all day, the bar from 18.00.
Havana Bar (Deck 4)
Refined club atmosphere with fine cigars from the humidor and a first-class drinks menu.
Piano Bar (Deck 4)
During the day, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the atrium with a coffee and sweet or savory snacks and in the evening an aperitif to the gentle sounds of the piano.
Pool Bar (Deck 8)
Relax here with a fantastic view over the sea. The bartender will spoil you with refreshing drinks - or in the afternoon with hot waffles.
Sansibar (Deck 9)
Sundowners, cocktails, drinks and snacks on the open terrace with a sea view or partying on the dance floor - the Sansibar is open daily from 17.00 until "open end".
Beds
All suites are equipped with two beds, which can be prepared for you together or apart as you wish (not possible in the Penthouse Grand Suites). In categories 1-5, the sofa can be converted into a bed with a lying area of 70 x 190 cm (suitable for up to 15 years of age) by folding down the sides and can be used for a third person (not possible in suites 665 and 666 and in the veranda suites of categories 6 and 7, SPA suites, Penthouse Deluxe Suites and Penthouse Grand Suites). You have the option of expressing your preference regarding the beds - placed together or apart - when booking your cruise.
Library
Novels, bestsellers, non-fiction, travel literature and exciting thrillers - almost everything can be found in the library (Deck 8) and can be borrowed for free at any time. In addition, two PC workstations with printers are available.
Board ID
At the beginning of your journey you will receive an onboard pass, which you should take with you every time you go ashore. It is valid when entering and leaving the ship as a substitute for the passport or identity card and is checked by the security system. This system registers electronically whether you are on board or ashore.
Board newspaper *
On the EUROPA guest portal, which you can access via your smartphone or your private mobile device, you will find a free on-board edition of "Die Welt". If you would like to receive a printed copy of the short edition of "Welt" in your suite, please contact the reception on deck 4. Printed copies are also available there. Please note that "Welt" is published from Sunday to Friday, the Saturday edition is omitted. You can also find other selected newspapers and magazines (partly subject to a charge) on the EUROPA guest portal (4 downloads per suite and cruise are free). Upon request, you are offere a large selection of full editions of national and international newspapers in digital print for a fee. Newspapers are delivered to your suite during the morning or according to their publication time. For more information and available titles, please refer to the order form in your suite.
A few copies of selected full editions are available for you to read in the library, at the pool bar and at the piano bar. Guests in the Grand Penthouse Suite receive a daily full edition of their choice free of charge.
Boutique
The boutique has a wide range of exclusive women's and men's fashion, drugstore and gift items, and souvenirs. Please note that customs regulations in many countries prohibit the boutique from opening in ports. The WEMPE jewelry store presents high-quality watches, select jewelry, and flawless diamonds
Bridge
Due to its outstanding importance as a control center for all nautical and technical processes, the ship bridge is a very sensitive space. For this reason, it is not publicly accessible in accordance with international regulations. You are welcome to take part in a bridge tour, provided that nautical interests or local regulations of the respective coastal countries do not conflict with this aspect.
Butler
A butler service is available for guests of the Penthouse Suites. If requested, the butler will take care of unpacking and packing your luggage, serving you food and drinks in your suite, ironing your clothes and much more.      
Drones
The private use of drones is generally not permitted onboard he expedition ships This applies to both the sailing time and the lay time in the port as well as at landing points in remote regions. In polar areas such as Antarctica and the Arctic, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises attaches great importance to compliance with international agreements to protect sensitive nature and, in particular, wildlife. Therefore, private use of drones is strictly prohibited in these areas, even on land. In other regions of the world, any use of drones on land is subject to the relevant authorities, who have to explicitly approve this.
These applications must be made individually by the passenger and without Hapag-Lloyd Cruises as intermediary. In addition to a drone license, which the users must obtain in their country of origin, the respective approval must be shown at all times. Please take these instructions seriously, because passengers who violate these regulations and authorization requirements are liable to prosecution.
TV and entertainment program
You can receive the television program* from the region where the EUROPA is currently located via satellite – you can look forward to German-language programs within reach of Europe. You can receive Deutsche Welle television programs wherever possible.In addition to the usual functions, the flat screen in your suite has an entertainment and information system (guest portal). This allows you to access a selection of films and music of many different styles at any time and receive detailed information about your cruise. Please note that the guest portal can only be used via a private mobile device or a private tablet. The number of rental devices available on board is very limited.
Photo and film team
A photo and film team accompany the travels of the EUROPA and record the onboard and land experiences for you during the journey. You have the opportunity to look at the photos and the first film sequences on (Deck 5) at the Photoshop and to order them there as well. Upon request, the photo team will gladly store your photos on a USB stick or print your photos from a memory card or a USB stick to photo paper (subject to a charge). At the end of the journey, you can also order the travel film on DVD, Blu-Ray or USB stick also at the photo shop (subject to a charge).
Golf
With the help of modern technology, you can optimize your game on every EUROPA journey. The golf simulator on the Bellebue Deck (deck 9) lets you prove your abilities at more than 30 top places in the world. Upon request, a PGA  professional (for a fee) trains with you on the video coach or accompanies you on a round of the beautiful golf courses that are on your itinerary.

Internet * and E-Mail *
You have direct Internet access via your private mobile device or your private tablet. Please note that there are only a very limited number of tablets available to borrow on board. There are Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the ship. Internet use is free for one hour per guest per day. Guests in the SPA Suites, Penthouse Deluxe Suites and Penthouse Grand Suites always have free internet access.  
Childcare
On family cruises, Hapag-Lloyd offers kids programs for children aged 4 to 12. The care times for children aged 4 and over are usually from 09.00 to 12:30, from 14.00 to 17.00 p.m. and from 18.30 to 19.30.. During this time, games, sports and creative programs are offered.
Air conditioner
The suites and lounges are 100% air-conditioned with fresh air. The air conditioning in your suite is only fully functional when the patio doors are closed. The controller in the suite allows you to set the temperature according to your personal preferences. If the blower is set too high for you, please contact your suite stewardess. The air conditioning cannot be switched off completely.
Shore activities
As part of your cruise, a varied shore excursion program (subject to a charge) is offered. With your temporary travel documents (about three months before departure), you will receive the shore excursion brochure including the order form.
The respective excursions are not included in the price; they can be booked upon request via your travel agency or online at www.hl-cruises.de/landausfluege. Booking on board only upon availability. The tourist team is at your disposal on deck 4. Depending on the destination area, excursions can only be carried out in English.
Minibar
Non-alcoholic soft drinks and beer in the mini bars of the suites are included in the travel price. In the suites on the Penthouse Deck and in the SPA Suites, additional alcoholic beverages are available free of charge. In the SPA suites, special teas, wellness drinks and fresh fruit juices are also available free of charge. Do you have a special request? Your suite stewardess or reception will be happy to take your order. The drinks are added to your onboard account and settled at the end of the cruise.
Mail
Postcards and letters can be delivered at the reception. From the next port the forwarding is arranged. Your onboard account will be charged with the respective postage fees.
Smoking
All public areas and suites aboard the EUROPA are non-smoking areas with the exception of the following areas: the port side of the Lido Cafe terrace, the Havana Bar and the outside area of the Sansibar (cigars, cigarillos and pipes are also permitted here).After the end of the service hours in the outdoor area of the Lido Café, cigars, cigarillos and pipes may also be smoked there on the terrace at the designated smoking tables. Smoking is permitted on the verandah of your suite and on all outside decks except the Magrodome area.Please use the ashtrays provided.
Safe
Please deposit jewellery, money and other valuables in your personal safe, which is located in your suite. You can deposit other valuables in the safe at the reception. Important: The cruise line encourages guests to leave the safe open at the end of the cruise and upon final disembarkation. If you have any questions, your suite stewardess will be happy to help. If the safe is properly locked, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is liable for your valuables up to a maximum of €3,000 per suite and cruise.
Electricity
All the electrical features in your suite work with 220V AC. The bathroom also has a 110V outlet for dry shavers and electric toothbrushes. Adapters for German and foreign connector standards are available at the reception.
Suite service
On decks 5 and 6 there are a total of 14 veranda suites, each of which can be connected to the neighboring suite via a connecting door should you prefer separate bedrooms.
Telecommunication * / mobile reception*
The EUROPA is equipped with a satellite communications system. As long as there is a local connection to the communications satellite, this enables a direct telephone connection worldwide. Conversely, a direct telephone connection on board is also possible. Please note that even dialing the EUROPA's telephone number is chargeable to the caller. You can ask your telephone provider for the exact charges for a satellite call on board; Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has no influence on this.
The mobile network of WMS, a provider of mobile phone systems aboard cruise ships and aircraft, enables you to use your mobile phone even at sea in an area where your mobile phone provider can usually no longer provide a network (chargeable service; prices vary depending on the mobile phone provider).
Tender and Zodiac service
In all ports where the EUROPA lies at anchor, disembarkation takes place, if possible, by tender boats or motorized inflatable boats (Zodiacs). In exceptional cases, the cruise line is forced by official order to use external tender boats. In all other ports, the EUROPA lies at the pier.
Table seat reservation
Breakfast and lunch are taken on board the EUROPA in open session. You have free choice of table seat.
The same applies for dinner at the Europa Restaurant or Lido Café. The Maître gladly accepts table seat wishes for a dinner at the specialty restaurants (The Globe by Kevin Fehling, Venezia, Pearls). Reservations prior to the start of the journey are not possible.
The number of reservation options in these three restaurants depends on the travel length. On travels for up to seven days, you can reserve at one of the three restaurants. During a length of eight to twelve days you can book in two of three restaurants, as of 13 days you can make a reservation at all three restaurants.
Guests of the Spa Suites and Penthouse Deluxe Suites are treated preferred when booking a table at The Globe by Kevin Fehling. For guests of the Penthouse Grand Suites, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises gladly accepts table seat reservations at all restaurants.
Gratuities
Gratuities are not compulsory on board.  Every guest is free to particularly reward a good service.If you would like to donate something to the entire crew, please donate to the crew cash register at reception.
Laundry, dry cleaning and ironing service
The EUROPA has a fee-based laundry, dry cleaning and ironing service. The ironing service is included in the Penthouse suites and the SPA suites.
Wellness/Spa
The wellness area (OCEAN SPA) offers you a complete wellness program (for a fee) - from massages from all over the world to body wraps from the power of the sea, thalasso and cosmetic treatments with high-quality active ingredients and even a hairdresser. Appointments at the OCEAN SPA can only be made on board. In addition: BEWEI, an innovative beauty concept that can beautify your entire body and face contour and give you a whole new feeling of vitality. Use of the sauna, steam sauna and the two infrared chairs is free of charge. On every cruise you also have the opportunity to benefit from the holistic Dr. Anne Fleck health concept. For more information about our wellness and fitness offers and information about Dr. Anne Fleck's nutritional concept, please refer to the guest portal on the television in your suite.
